Fleece-lined tights are much warmer than bare legs.

Those wouldn't work for a formal event

I think some nice patterned tights wouldn't be out of place. Black tights also wouldn't be out of place.

You know how a many who wears dress shoes without socks with a suit would look dumb? Same thing.

Nude or black stockings with your LBD.

PS - I think women should poll their husbands. I bet most men prefer women to wear them.

Maybe if you have fat lumpy legs. I NEVER wear pantyhose. I have really nice legs.

This is the only exception to the hosiery rule. "If" you have nice legs, you can do what you want! If you don't, please be aware that there is quality fine denier hose out there that will make you look as if you have nice legs. Quality hose is expensive! You can also wear make-up/self-tanner on your legs.

DP. Any recommendations on high quality hosiery brands? I don’t have nice legs (typically wear pants) and am willing to invest.

Can anyone (who isn’t horrified at the thought of wearing hose😀) let me know what brands I should look at that are good quality?

This. Woldford in a more sheer black is perfect for a LBD.

Quite a bit cheaper than Wolford but still reasonably nice is Hue.

I love my Wolford and Natori tights and pantyhose. I wash them on delicates and air dry and they last for many years.

I just bought some sheer black Calzedonia hose for a wedding as they seem to be well recommended.
