A great idea. Thank you. |
| For PE taken over the summer, how long is the session? How many days per week? TIA. |
Again people assume kids are doing this to pack in another academic class. I wouldn’t encourage that. My daughter wanted to do theater and choir and didn’t want to have to choose between the two. Loves both classes and both are really something she looks forward to in her schedule. Most of the kids I know in real life who have done it it’s to double up on arts electives. |
Differs between the in person APS option and fully virtual option. APS in person option is 5 days a week for 2 or 3 weeks? Virtual is longer and there is a lot more flexibility. All this info is on APS website. You can see the schedule from last summer. |
If you have it can you post a link? I've looked at see several different things, including one link saying virtual doesn't exist anymore since the pandemic. |
When my DD took it virtually a few years ago it was 5 days a week for about 5 weeks. Easy A. https://www.apsva.us/curriculum/virtual-instruction/summer-new-work-for-credit-courses/ Virtual Virginia Calendar: Cohort 1: Instruction: June 2 – July 10, 2026 Withdrawal Deadline: June 4, 2026 by 3pm Cohort 2: Instruction: June 16 – July 24, 2026 Withdrawal Deadline: June 19, 2025 by 3pm |
Many kids make up the activity, I hear. They know how to photoshop their apple watch/garmin/fitbit data. |
| Is there any course work, like for a health component? Or just the physical activity? |
Yes there is course work- answering Qs about healthy habits and rising freshman have to pass cpr via a zoom test |
