Dyson stick vacuum is nearly dead after almost 8 years. Replacement or try another brand?

Absolutely not true. I was there this summer and they sold me a new main body/cyclone. Dyson was out of warranty. I called and asked if they had them because online was out of stock. They did.

I bought my Eureka vacuum for $50 20 years ago and it still works as good as did on day 1.

You can order an adapter on Amazon that will let you use inexpensive batteries made for electric tools. They last longer than the original battery ever did.
