Did a GLP-1 improve your mental health?

I had previously done WW multiple times, Noom, Calibrate with live counseling, and similar programs and I found it really counterproductive to be constantly having to meet and talk about food and journal about food and complete little lessons about food. All that focus on food is not healthy or helpful, imo. With meds, I'm simply not hungry and I don't think about it. My life is so much better.

My insurance has added a new requirement for 2026 that I join their version of WW with counseling and I'm dreading it.

I’m an outlier because I haven’t lost a single pound but after a year I can say it absolutely helps my mental clarity. Prior to Mounjaro I was often foggy before eating and groggy after eating. My FASTING blood sugar was always in the low 120s and I think my brain was on a blood sugar roller coaster all day. Now my fasting blood sugar is always in the low 80s and I just feel even. I have zero side effects, eat a normal balanced diet and it’s a miracle drug for me. (I had tried metformin before but it literally made me poop myself). I’m 5’8” and 160lbs so I wouldn’t cry if I lost weight but am also totally fine with my body as is.

That is interesting, because I have gone from MAYBE 1 glass of wine a month, to now liking alcohol for the first time in my life. I'm still at 1-2 drinks a week, so not heavy at all, but heavy for me.

Zepbound.

I thought it was supposed to ELIMINATE alcohol cravings in people with alcoholic tendencies, but maybe it just changes them in everyone?

Been on a compound for little over month. Have lost 7lbs. Def fatigued and waves of depression. I never increased dosage and don’t plan to because I already feel awful. So I’ll keep on the slow weight loss. It’s a trade off. Losing weight without GLP-1 took a TON of work and I was always hungry. This is easy but I’m tired and at times depressed. But it’s also a sucky time of the year.

It makes me more anxious but that’s due to the nausea

I found that side effects decreased as I moved up, may be just getting used to it though. I stayed on 2.5 for several months
