| The Lord of the Rings wrapped up faster than this. |

Finale spoilers ahead!!
- - - - - I think I liked the finale. I have mixed feelings. Not that I wanted a lot of people to die, but for almost everyone to survive was pretty unrealistic (I know, I know, it’s a show about monsters and other dimensions…but still). I think Mike’s theory about El finding a new life was sweet. Whatever helps him move on. I am seeing people misunderstanding the ending online, though. Just like what happened with Lost with people complaining they were dead the whole time (they weren’t), and with this, people are saying that final book cover showing Stranger Things “a D&D story” (or whatever it said) means the entire thing didn’t happen and was just a campaign with Mike as the storyteller. That is not at all how I took that cover, and I really hope the Duffer brothers clear that up. |
I didn't take the cover that way at all. I'm surprised anyone would. I liked the finale. Endings are hard. You need to tell a good story, wrap major plot points up, and leave on a satisfying note. Ideally you don't want things to be overly predictable, but you also don't want a jarring twist that renders much of the earlier story moot. I think the finale, and season 5 overall, hit in the right places. My only criticism would be the they never really used Dr. Kay, either in the finale or the season in general. The character and plot elements made sense. They needed a way to end El's arc, and this was a pretty good way to do it. I liked how they brought Kali back with it, but other everything else with Dr. Kay felt like they were just going through the motions. Still, I think I'd rank this ending (not just the finale, but season 5 overall) as one of the best I've seen for a show like this. |
| I thought the ending was lovely overall, wrapped up the characters' arcs really well. |
| Where’s Suzie, Dustin’s girlfriend? |

When did Nancy turn into Rambo? One regular sized monster could take out a platoon of army men, but Nancy took on the spider from Mars by herself.
The costume director really really hated the girl playing El. If Henry choose to be a monster, why was he so afraid of the cave? Was it Henry or the Army that built the wormhole to connect to that planet? How did Henry get the kids to that planet? How did they breathe on the planet? Where did the planet go and did no one else know that it was there? |
| What a waste of time. All these years spent watching this just to learn that accepting your gayness is very powerful. Lol |
The number of things he named that they all like was overboard and some of it didn’t even even make sense. Milkshakes at Melvade‘s? |
| The ending… I loved some of it but overall it was too meh. The only one to die was a minor character. Everyone got their happy ending. Except Mike and El. Surprised they didn’t write in a meet up somewhere. |
The “girl playing El” is Millie Bobby Brown, now a fairly recognizable actress thanks to Stranger Things. Is this your first time watching it? |
| Interesting that one of the most anticipated seasons of one of the most popular Netflix shows of all time has only three pages of comments, whereas the prospect of Angelina Jolie leaving the county (for example) has already generated seven pages. |
Whatever, her outfits were terrible. |
And her lips, was that filler? |
After the speach last episode they kind of got away from that. Last night was more about girl power, El suddenly got all her powers back, Nancy went Red Dawn, Max seemed to somehow have powers, Will's mom went Heathers. The guys were all there but only Murray contributed much value. |
Jonathan saved Steve, which wasn’t crucial to the plot, but Steve surviving was important to a lot of viewers. |
