What happened at Churchill today?

EMS public records have it listed as a Cardiac Arrest. You don't need to know more than that.

If PP's child is districted to this school, it is her/ his business.

Not for medical emergencies.

A child might have a condition they don’t want spread all over the internet.

Yes, public records say cardiac arrest due to drug overdose. Really sad. Stop being nosy and say a prayer.

Ugh, that sounds terrible. We're not at Churchill but definitely have issues at our HS with kids using drugs.

Honestly, trying to cover it up or be dishonest about it isn't helping anyone. The school doesn't need to name the student, but it's reasonable for families to want to know if it was a drug-related emergency.

What is wrong with you?

All HS's in this country have drug problems.

This is not anyone's business but that child's family. They are a minor.

Blame Trump and Republicans if you want to start screaming about drugs in schools. Drugs coming over the border are coming in 10x faster now that Trump has pulled all enforcement for immigration. Cartels are loving the Trump Drug loving administration.

The school won't share the info, but it's on a public website??

Oh please. If you want to make this political, at least be accurate in your reporting. It's not like drugs in schools are a new thing since Trump took office. Drugs in schools have been an issue since before Trump.

And your reading comprehension is lacking because I specifically said that we're not at Churchill but our HS has also been known for having a drug problem. This is an issue across SES levels here in MCPS.

Give them time...it's not something you want to rush on and speak on without all of the information. This just happened mid-day on Friday and they told you what they could.

Also, schools have different privacy requirements than EMS/police. But I agree--give them time to digest and assess facts. And more important, keep the student and his/her family in your thoughts.
