But not really Catholic. Georgetown ditched its Catholic herotage a few years back. |
|
Is it a program, the campus, or Boston that intrigues your DD? I would not send our Jewish daughter to a Catholic college.
I would encourage your daughter to check out BU, NEU, Tufts and Wellesley. Our daughter is at one of these schools and is loving it - the school, the location, Jewish life, their friends and their studies |
????? Jesuit is Catholic. 🤔 |
Stop being obtuse and go back to your class at Columbia. |
I wouldn’t even respond to trash posts like that. BC is in Newton, named one of the safest cities in the US. The population is also 25-30% Jewish. BC has had no problems with safety for anyone. You have no reason to worry about safety. |
|
A very close, Jewish HS friend attended BC, met her Jewish boyfriend there, spent time with a diverse group.
I honestly think it is going to be absolutely fine. I understand the caution given the current climate, however. |
This. Have you heard of any anti-semitic provocations at schools like Notre Dame, Georgetown, BC, Villanova, or anywhere else? Catholic schools are very accepting and do not tolerate hate. |
Why don't you take that to the political forum. You are too tightly wound for this thread. |
Again, take your anti-semitic hate to the Political forum...you will be more welcomed there. |
Georgetown is also Jesuit. |
Yawn |
NP here. We all know that the term "anti-Semitic" refers to hatred of Jews. We're not going along with your agenda to make the word meaningless. |
| I was at BC in the 80s. At one point 4 of my roomates were Jewish. Just happened that way not because they felt they wanted to join together. No issues and Chestnut Hill and Newton are heavily Jewish so there are communities off campus. BC has always had a small but significant Jewish population. |
PP is responsibly using the term to discuss the safety of her Jewish kid at college campuses in the College and University discussion. It's sad that the concern for the safety of Jewish students makes you so angry. |
| As a BC grad, I can tell you it would be considered extremely uncool there to be biased against Jews. |
