Do you/have you ever worked in a school? Everyone refers to their students as their kids. It's a testament to the relationships formed and how much responsibility staff feels for their growth and development and safety.

I have. And, it goes without saying that the safety, as well as the academic and personal growth of my students are paramount to anything and everything I do.
I also have a clear understanding of boundaries; that is why my role has been that of a facilitator, always respectful of my students, as well as of their parents and their parental rights and responsibilities. The children I gave birth to are the only ones I consider my own.
