Why is YouTube getting boycotted this week?

People need to understand you can’t have your cake and eat it, too.

If we’re going to monitor for predators, we need AI to help. The alternative is to pay humans to, and we’ve seen that causes people extreme trauma when they’re exposed to it 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

AI isn’t going to be perfect right from the beginning. Remember how horrible AI images were 2-3 years ago? It’s improved massively since then. Same with AI moderation. It’s not going to be perfect, but if we want moderation to keep predators away, we need to start somewhere. YouTube certainly doesn’t want legit creators getting kicked off for no reason, that would be bad for their business.

Not true. Corporations replaced humans with AI and robots only to save money. A lot of them use bots as a way for customer support which I am absolutely against. Most of the time, AI will just repeat the same generic responses if a user were to get help. I know for sure that millions of internet users dont want AI to help them anyway.
