| Keep digging, there’s definitely more to the story. The timing of everything during this process is especially interesting. |
Would love to know what about the timing is interesting! |
| Wish more sites of the club had courage to do this 13 years ago |
| Does anyone know if they informed the team members that the club was no longer part of the franchise before they collected their deposits for next year? |
| Don’t they have to rename themselves? |
| They are now MSAC |
I think families registered for NCAP north and later were told they were leaving ncap. They offered refunds for deposits when people left |
| Woah. That’s not good. |
At least they did the right thing and refunded people if they didn’t want to be a part of a new start up club. |
| Is ownership staying the same? |
| I heard the owners are staying the same. Does anyone know anything about them? |
| Owners and coaches will stay the same. They offered a refund for anyone who wanted to change teams after the name change. They will continue to practice at Lakewood Country Club. Our swimmers considered making a move after finding out about the change, we asked them if they were happy with the coaching they receive and the answer was an overwhelming yes, so why would they leave over the name of the team? The growth of our swimmers since joining North has been significant, the coaches care about the kids inside and outside of the pool which is huge. Of course there are quirks and things I would change, but I think that can be said of all teams and coaches. Of course RMSC and NCAP are the big names that kids and parents understandably are drawn to, but there is also something to be said for a smaller team where the coach knows the swimmers and what each of them needs to continue to progress . |
| lol we had a very different experience |
Same, and we heard a lot of other families left too. |
| Maybe it depends on what group you're in. All the parents/swimmers we talked to decided to stay. |
