You couldn’t pay me money to go into DC this weekend

Ugh!! As much as I would love to see it thunderstorm all over this s-show, we are heading out of town to go camping. Please, can it rain here and not out in Shenandoah?

I read that there are no bleachers or seats. Folding chairs are not allowed. It’s all standing room.

I think they must have some kind of special seating near the president that will be on tv and filled with his supporters in the hats and everything, but they must get them there some way besides the checkpoints.

I don’t think a crowd of regular maga people will go to stand and watch a parade. They would be standing on the side of the road in the heat for hours. Inside a security perimeter. Maybe food vendors? Probably not? No one with small kids or older people will be able to do it unless they’re insane.

I remember when they did that flyover thing with all the old planes in like, idk, 2012? It had a moderate crowd. But you could just walk anywhere onto the mall and there were no restrictions on anything. Way easier, and it looked like mostly people taking a lunch break from offices.

Don’t know anyone who’s going obviously nobody blue is going but I have plenty of MAGA family and not even they are interested - coming into this madhouse of security to stand and look at tanks in the summer heat (and possibly rain) is not really that appealing regardless of views.

Everyone you’ve talked to is being hysterical.

I live in the District and I am going to the parade. I love watching military gear up close. I also love flyovers. I also love my service members and am attending a number of other Army 250th events.

I am a lifelong center-left Dem and DOD civilian

There was a casting call for seat fillers. Specifically ones with an ethnic background. There was a whole dress code

I almost got hit in the crosswalk yesterday near McPherson square by one of those enormous charter buses that I assume was full of magas coming into town—two buses in a row and the guy was just rolling through a red to make a right turn despite my being right in front of him in the crosswalk. I hate those big out of town charter buses.

How are they paying these people? Who is footing the bill?

This is exactly how I feel too. We made plans months ago to go out of town though.

I am going to be at no Kings events in Arlington.

They could have been protestors...or tourists.

They are offer $1000 paid through Crypto for seat fillers. I think they need to know their audience. My MAGA relatives don't trust Crypto and think it's akin to Monopoly money.

Yep, I predict lots of tight-angle shots for the propaganda machine.

I went to the historical WW2 flyover and it was fun and impressive. Lots of older people and you could stand anywhere, we picked the shade.

Not surprised there is a casting call for seat fillers.
