Please help me find a swimsuit for woman over 50

Aww. You’re such a shithead, it must be miserable being you or being around you.

I live on the beach and see people 100 times a day walk by in their swim wear and 98 percent of women look terrible. Even teens and twenty somethings. The men too.

I’m actually in exceptional shape at 48 but have no interest in dressing like this. It just feels ridiculous. And I’m not a prude; fwiw I’m a huge fan of super revealing clothes in the right context. I’ve been wearing short shorties to the gym this week.

But for the beach, I mostly wear my lululemon or Vuori leggings and either a bikini top or just a rash guard. I have zero interest in getting burned. I look great in my leggings and happily tell my friends I don’t want to get burned. No one bats an eye. The other moms, all 20 pounds overweight, spend the whole day awkwardly pulling down their skirt suits, clearly uncomfortable in their clothes with everyone watching.

Dude. Why are you such a goddamned byitch when you’re so happy with your swimsuit?

Anyone try Albion? I'm tempted to try one of their tankinis.

OP you have my exact measurements. I’ve had good luck w/ Albion fit. You have to weed through the ones that are extemwely low cut on the thighs bc they’re not flattering, but I’ve had good luck W/ a lot of their styles. They also have good customer service if you want suggestions. I really like their ruched ones, esp the one shoulder one. I usually throw on a pareo or something the second I get out of the water

I’ve had this crop top for years and really like it. It’s surprisingly supportive since you can tie it tight. I’m 34 DDD. https://albionfit.com/products/santorini-switchback-crop. It’s held up well and I wear it year round.

I do not like their bottoms. They are either super skimpy or look like a diaper. Super frumpyTheir high rise bottoms go up to almost my boobs. I’m 5’2”. It would look ok on someone taller.

I’m 45 and I love Albion.

Can people recommend swim shorts they like?

This is super flattering—my body type is similar to yours.

DP I like this but I have fat thighs so it wouldn't work for me.

It’s true. However, they keep their base colors (black, navy) THE SAME from year to year, so you can build up a capsule swim wardrobe over several years.

And they also have some very anti-dated stuff—last summer I got a pair of ruched high-waisted bottoms and a one-shoulder tankini top in a very cute metallic sheen that I am now seeing show up in lots of other places.

What is with the metallic swimwear trend this season? I'm glad it works for you OP but it definitely does absolutely nothing for my skin tone.

I got a cute tankini with coordinating shorts and rash guard at REI during their member sale. The brand was Nani.

I like Seafolly suits, though not the boyshort one posted upthread (I like a higher cut leg).

Note that metallic swimwear slightly increases the risk of shark attacks. Anything that catches the light looks more like fish scales to hungry shark. Not an issue at the neighborhood swim club though!

I posted up thread the title ix one I like. I also like athletes but I think the discontinued the ones I like. The lands end ones are okay but I find the fabric less comfortable. I think the title ix ones also have a zip pocket on the back waistband which is great for a hotel keycard or credit card.

This is really cute but I’m confused by the terry cloth fabric. Has anyone had a terry cloth swimsuit? Seems counter intuitive.

Ditto here…though I’m 55. I wear swim shorts from Land’s End and a halter-style tankini top.

If anyone has seen swim shorts with boy short/boxer brief liner instead of bikini liners, please pass on. The bikini underwear under shorts is just not flattering…I wear them with no liner and hope I don’t flash anyone…
