Not the above PP but I do the same. This summer I'll have my phone in my shorts pockets and the keys/chapstick zipped into my light jacket tied around my waist. I still make sure I have a jacket for air-conditioning. There's just no need for anything else anymore with Apple Pay and ID photos. I do love the belt bag on vacations. There's just more stuff needed for flights and touring. And I wear it crossbody for security.

I just bought this, which is essentially a small crossbody or shoulder bag styled like a fanny pack: https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E473474-000/00

I have bigger bags that are nicer and put things in my pockets instead when I have pockets but plan to use this when I for example go for a walk with a friend and we might stop for a drink after. So I need phone, credit card, chapstick, maybe sunglasses

I have preferred a small backpack for years as it can also hold a water bottle, diaper, etc. However I am getting sick of it and don’t want to take it on long walks. I just got a small fanny pack that is only big enough for phone,
keys, and wallet. I wear skirts, dresses and light weight pants and shorts that sag if I use the pockets (if they have pockets at all).

I feel like this crossbody satchel trend is pretty recent. It’s very mom, but hey what mom is sticking chapstick and trail mix in $300 purse??

“Hands free belt satchel” is the the proper name

You can make fun of me for wearing a belt bag across my chest any day. The bag above is hideous and I’d never wear it, much less pay $250 for it.

ha ha ha I like in one of the pictures it's on a stove, like burn this bag!

Who SITS on a stove??? What kind of weird photoshoot was this from??

This sling bag works for me. Comes in tons of colors. I go for function over fashion.

Thanks. What style bag do you carry when for example taking a walk, attending your kid’s baseball game, etc. I need something to carry my phone and keys.

I don’t carry a purse on a walk (for what?) and at my kids games I take a causal purse - sometimes a large tote if I need to bring a ton of stuff or a small cross boat with cute strap.

DP- I have a strap on pouch that attaches to my water bottle. Just for phone and keys.

I see. I need a hands free option. And my water bottle goes on my bag or else it gets lost

How would you fit your water bottle in a fanny pack??

I love my belt bags. They are more convenient. You can't go to DCUMs for fashion advice. DC is the worst.
