This is amazing |
That is appalling. Seniors are done. College offers have been accepted. Why the heck shouldn’t they have a skip day? My senior class (1980s) did a senior skip day (back then I don’t think any skip days were “authorized.” The administration was angry but they didn’t cancel the rest of the year. Didn’t even hand out demerits. We just got a lecture. |
| The administration’s reaction is beyond absurd and now they have told the parents to stay out of it- presumably because they have been inundated by angry parents for the last 24 hours. |

At my HS right before summer ended and everyone went back to school, a painted outline of a dead body appeared on the front steps to the school.
(Nobody died. The concept was "I'd rather die than go back to school.") |
| Stay out of it? The adults are acting like petulant children. |
Sorry - this happened at a public school, didn't realize you only wanted to know about pranks that happened at private schools. No need for Security - I'll see myself out. |
| I know a guy who got a hold of his fellow crew teammate’s car keys. He had the hot girl at school flirt her way into getting them for him. He wired the guys brakes to the car horn. When the guy drove home from crew practice along the Schuylkill River outside Philly, he was in stop and go traffic with his horn blaring the whole time. The HoS of his private high school called the prankster in to yell at him but secretly said he was so impressed that he was able to pull off the stunt. |
Seriously, why does she cry all of the time? And about this? Come on, do better SR admins. They are leaving in 4 weeks. Get some perspective please. |
|
Seniors stole all the blackboard erasers, then returned them next week, cleaned up, and with new backing stickers that said "compliments of the class of '90" or something to that effect.

Kids at a local Catholic HS hired musicians to follow administrator around all day.
Administrators turned it into a dance party and posted it on the school's instagram. Think Cinco De Mayo. Protip: Avoid using public Venmo to pay for a prank. |
| This is a rumor: Kids numbered some kind of foul, like ducks or chickens, and released them in the building. They numbered them 1-16, and 18-20. They caught 19 of them quickly, but that #17 was elusive and the real prank was watching adults search for bird that did not exist. |
The seniors informed the school of their proposed senior prank, and the school said NFW. So (the majority of) the seniors retaliated with an "unauthorized" skip day (how much fun could an authorized skip day be?). Then the admin retaliated by revoking pretty much all of the seniors' privileges, but set up an opportunity for the offenders to repent to reinstate at least some of the lost privileges. TBD. Some parents lost their minds. I say stay out of it. The school set up a mechanism for the girls to win back the privileges, let's see what they come up with. Great preparation for college and adulthood. IMO too many SR parents pamper their kids and fight all of their battles for them. Full disclosure - I have a student at SR. |
| FAFO 🤷♀️ |
PP. Maybe. The admin's rejection of the initial prank seemed hyper-sensitive (something about a sweep of students' laptops for evidence of AI and ChatGPT use...which is genius). But the students' response was a bit childish (acknowledging that they are 17-18 year olds). Overall I am happy with the admin forcing the students to have a plan and present it. Life skills, which at least some of SR graduates will need as they go through the world. |
| Of course actions have consequences but administration’s initial reaction was way out of proportion. And in terms of the timeline it was Only AFTER 24 hours of hearing from so many parents that they decided to create this mechanism to reconsider their overreaction. |
