Infidelity unfortunately doesn't carry the stigma it once did. Confirmed infidelity in marriage should require a brand or tattoo on the forehead or cheek so everyone who dates the man or woman in the future knows. Most cheaters would have no qualms being a divorce-gold-digger. |
| Op here. I asked the question gently and the response was I don’t care about his money. Kinda like karma part. She’s somewhat materialistic and likes certain things and that surprises me when I see her struggling with paying for them. |
| Oh more to it — yes, he was emotionally abusive and controlling and that made me think she just wants to be done with him. |
| What is your question? |
| This OP is a really bad troll. |
+1 OP is annoyed he doesn’t get the fruits of a sweet divorce settlement. Two years of marriage with no kids wouldn’t result in a king’s ransom anyway. Hey OP—how much do you make? He won’t answer. |
This. The only people I know who left with nothing in a divorce are all women whose husbands were abusive on some level and were using the divorce as a weapon. |
| Dh and I earn the same. I can’t imagine taking anything from him like alimony or child support. We’d each take our own 401ks and split the savings account in half. |
Sounds 100% fake. Or, there was no money. |
It’s 22 years of marriage and not 2. Op fixed that |
|
This can’t be true. If it is, she could have received the financial assets she’s entitled to, but she doesn’t want to let you know.
Or maybe she spent the last 20 years squirreling away money he’s not aware of. She got married at age 20? |
|
I left with nothing.
He was violent. If I ever dated someone who told me his ex left with nothing, I would turn and run the other way. |
| Troll |
Oh boy- there’s a lot to that story. She got the boot after cheating most likely. |
