Worst Admissions Experiences

Maret was ok. Not extra friendly, informative and not rude. GDS was cold.

Bullis was pretty bad as well. I think they’re all overwhelmed but it comes across as “we could care less whether your kid comes here”

Bullis was our favorite - the director of admissions was awesome. This was three years ago, though, and I heard he moved on to be a HOS somewhere else. My child chose a different school but the admissions process definitely put Bullis higher on our list. (Probably higher than it should have been.)

The admissions department at Flint Hill was definitely the worst. Very unprofessional. They acted as if they were Andover or Groton instead of the average school they are. My daughter got accepted, but we chose Potomac.

Langley School in McLean. The AD was awful and acted like the school was some sort of high tier school for uber intellectual kids. I don't think she's there anymore. Needless to say we went elsewhere (and funny enough DS did end up at a HADES for 3 yrs of high school)

I guess there is a wide range of experience even with the same schools. Every email I sent to Field was responded to in less than a day. I never tried calling them though.

We also had a bad experience with WIS, Lower School.

Why are you even replying in a snarky way to someone’s question. You’re really just here to turn up the drama. If you don’t have a response, just don’t reply. Weirdo.

Here’s an idea, you could’ve just chosen not to reply instead of being rude and hoping to stir things up. Idiot.

We loved the US admissions at SSSAS. No experience with the other two divisions, though.

We loved US and MS.

We had a good experience with Flint Hill for one middle school kid and one upper school kid. Which school did you apply to?

We had LS experiences and they were great!

I’d be curious to understand what the complaints were - if they were very specific/unique because I can’t imagine having a negative experience from what we went through..

Had a horrible experience with middle school admissions at Flint Hill. They were so rude, I could not believe it.

I was surprised they didn’t send out a post-admissions survey. I wanted to share feedback

I think Field was overwhelmed with the amount of applicants they had this year. The admissions "office" is like 2 people. When we applied the year before they were very responsive.

GDS seemed uninterested. We should have noted, as our DS was waitlisted.

Middle school was rude? Jordi was really good for us and we also talked to Rico, who was very helpful with some of our questions about extracurriculars.

I think that is just them, as that was exactly how we felt and our DS was admitted. Not a good admissions experience and part of the reason we chose to go elsewhere
