yes I received my finale offer letter on the 17th and got the call that I will not be able to start my new position anymore

If a job posting closed recently any chance they'll just do the interviews assuming the hiring process will take longer than the 90 days for the hiring freeze? Assuming of course the agency decides to keep the job after implementing its plan for workforce efficiency.

When was your start date supposed to be?

Hiring manager — this is what we were told this afternoon.

So, so sorry, OP. That is extremely frustrating.

First EO was for 90 days. This one as well.

OPM asked agencies to send lists if probationary staff. It's not clear what comes next.

Does anyone know the specific timing of ladder promotion freezes? I was eligible for promotion from gs7 to gs9 in the middle of last pay period (before inauguration) and my supervisor put in the request several weeks beforehand. I understand these things aren't effective until the next full pay period which should be today but now there's a freeze. I'm SOL for now, right? Further, does anyone know when the freeze is lifted, would it be applied retroactively?
