Forgot!!! What a joke. Ignore maybe. Forgot not likely. |

Faithful Christians and atheists both agree that a Bible has no place at an inaugural affirmation.
Only demagogues use Bibles in government. |
I had to read 3 different responses to get to this one? |
It's less than a formality; it's totally meaningless at best, and blasphemous at worst. It's a personal private choice, like what lapel pin to wear, that has nothing to do with the function of government. |
| He gives atheists like me a bad name. |
The win lies the problem. If more people cared, we wouldn’t be here. |
Forgot and ignored. |
| Therein lies ^^ |
To the contrary, if you are a person of faith, it is an issue. Just like that idiot couldn't say the Apostle's Creed at McCain's funeral. |
| He couldn’t raise his hand, recite the oath and put his hand on the bible at the same time. |
Lots of people of faith voted for him, not caring if he was religious or not. |
Oh, It's certainly newsworthy, but in the long run, it doesn't matter at all, to anyone except people like OP who are looking for another reason to hate Trump. His supporters, many of whom are religious themselves, simply don't care. |
I can recite the apostles creed and I'm an atheist. |
Big plus one - it is so disturbing that he has hijacked evangelical Christians by exploiting wedge issues such as abortion and trans gender trends. Jesus had nothing to say about either abortion or homosexuality. Jesus had plenty to say about loving your neighbor as yourself, reaching out to the marginalized with compassion and helping the poor. Plenty of us are deeply concerned about his misappropriating our faith for cynical political purposes. Many of my Jewish friends are deeply concerned also. |
We got it. You wuv him |
