For Primetime, yes. Or for when it’s a headline athlete like Simone Biles during the US qualifying events. Otherwise, this afternoon, across the four networks airing coverage, I’ve seen a lot of variety in athletes being represented. The US sent more than 500 athletes to the games. They’re hard to avoid.

I'm watching cross country equestrian. They're showing every single competitor.

I've watched in several different countries. They're all alike in focusing on their own athletes unless you're from Tonga or similar with only three athletes.

In France (when it was not being held in France), they kept showing judo. In New Zealand they kept showing too much field hockey. In Canada in winter there was way too much curling. Before peacock, in the US there was way too much beach volleyball because of the bikinis.

At least we have on demand and VPNs now to watch other sports and countries

I was in Ecuador in 2008 when an Ecuadorian won a medal in the 20km speed walking event. It was their second medal ever. They aired the whole thing live and then when it was over they immediately replayed it. And when I say aired it, I mean they showed the Ecuadorian athlete walking for 20km. No context, no intercuts with other athletes. Just one guy speedwalking for well over an hour. It was kind of amazing. It was all anyone was talking about.

The Peacock coverage allows you do watch watch whatever you want, and replays whenever you want. Although there have bee a couple bugs, it has been excellent - the way we should be able to watch.

If they don't have baseball in Olympics, why not remove basketball too? Opens up space for another sport. NBA Basketball can play against national teams in games throughout the year.

I’m not sure why you connect baseball and basketball. Think basketball is much more popular in many countries than baseball.

The SwimSwam forums are all up in arms about the pool being too slow. Apparently it is shallower than usual and that, according to the commentariat, is the reason for the WRs not dropping like flies.

I don’t know enough one way or the other about the depth of the pool, but there have been some terrific performances so far in the pool for Team USA. Torri Huske and Gretchen Walsh going 1-2 in the 100fly, Nic Fink tying the GOAT men’s breastroker Adam Peaty for silver in the 100br, and the men’s 4x100 fr relay gold with Dressel on the anchor and a knockout 3rd leg from Hunter Armstrong. People dragging Ledecky for her bronze in the 400fr, btw, are being ridiculous. She is a distance ace who just happens to ALSO excel in the 400, which is a completely different type of race. The fact that she even places at all in the 400 is astonishing to me.

This is how we are watching as well- complete events with also competitors and availability of every event.
