What are your teens & tweens doing this weekend?

11 yo DD. Birthday party at somebody's pool today, and hosting a playdate tomorrow. They're going to do crafts and a no-bake dessert at the playdate.

Kid has chores and music practice, reads in her downtime, needs to write some birthday thank you letters, and her grandparents would love a call. If she turns up bored, I send her to those things.

Bike to pool and play with friends there.
They also roam from house to house, play board games or video games and just mess around with friends in the basement. The 12 yr olds have gotten back into messing with the nerf guns since schools been out. They might go play tennis.

So far they have been busy during the week between swim and tennis and friends and pool, plus the older one working and taking a class, that they like just hanging out with each other on the weekends too if friends not around.

This is my kids too. They are really busy on weekdays so will do maybe a little tennis or pool or pickleball on a weekend with us but not really their preference. If they can't find a live kid to hang out with, they chat online, online game together. I don't know if they facetime + game or the chat is part of the game, but they are pretty social that way too, with a wide variety of kids.

13, 8th grader. Plans I’ve heard about so far: Skateboarding, swimming, playing guitar, hanging at the guitar shop, getting a haircut, and then shopping and going for pizza with friends.

14 year old -
Friday afternoon/night he hung out with friends - basketball, ordered pizzas, walked to the pool
Saturday - he'll sleep til 11-ish, lay around, make himself breakfast/lunch, practice hitting (baseball), work out, watch a baseball game, screens, do his laundry, etc. Basically nothing
Sunday - playing baseball double header

11 year old -
He's been doing a fine arts camp all week. Saturday will be watching the Euros, baking something with the fruit from our CSA, maybe pool
Sunday we'll go to brother's baseball game.

14 year old went to the movies yesterday, went shopping with me today, and is now on the phone with friends. Later they will do PT for a recent knee surgery and pack for our upcoming trip.

My teen had a swim meet this morning and a private lesson this afternoon. Tomorrow the plan is to head into DC with friends.

And then nothing except pool relaxation. I've got a ton of nectarines - maybe my younger teen and I will make a huge batch of nectarine crumble...

Today:
Swim meet
Hang out at pool all afternoon with friends
Video games

Tomorrow:
Sleep until noon
Spend a few hours texting with people who live less than 3 blocks away but for some reason they'd rather text than get together
Escape room
More video games

Bigger outings that we may plan for later in the summer, if you are looking for something more noteworthy...

Bike trip down part of the C&O canal, debating whether we'll make it a day trip or a longer bikepacking overnight

Tubing on the Shenandoah

Hike up White Oak Canyon to the swimming hole and natural rock waterslide (tweens always roll their eyes at the idea, until they get there ... then they can't get enough of it)

They had a swim meet yesterday. My dd babysat in the evening. Today farmers market then heading to a friend’s house for a cookout.

My kids don’t have a ton of hangout friends…they have plenty of friends on swim team, but nobody is inviting them to do things outside of that and they are not inviting others either. I wish they had a group of friends like you, op! I would be thrilled if they were out and about and bored instead of in my house all the time

My 13 yo seems burnt out on friends after a very social school year. I am trying not to pester her about hanging out with friends too much. Yesterday, we went to pool for several hours with younger sibling. Later today we’re visiting grandparents. At home, it’s reading, screens, crafts, etc.

OP is looking for ideas for her kids' friend group this weekend (movies, laser tag, water park) not a granular list from humblebragging DMV parents.
After the international-based activities and whipping cream for the homemade tarts, Liesel and Marcos will pack for our upcoming trip, cook from our CSA, spend 2.5 hours on screens, and then hang out with their social groups. I will type it out by portion of the day so you can follow along.

He sat on Fortnite at our house for most of the day, but at least a friend from school was physically present at our house with him.
