Background is my kid (group of friends 12-14) is having a hard time deciding what to do.

I’m not going to jump in and save them but am supporting my kid in what they suggest to the group.

They’ve sort of done “everything” at this is point in the summer. The conversation comes to a dead end due to this.

My 12yo is working on an English assignment in the morning on Sat and probably also going to have some phone/screen time. In the afternoon we’re going to a friends house with a pool. The kids have been friends since K and still do an activity together throughout the school year so we try and stay connected in the summer. They’re all in different MS now.
In the evening we’ll take the dog for a walk together.
Sunday afternoon she’s getting dropped off at our pool with friends to hang out. She’ll swim, okay four square, volleyball etc…. She’s not into tanning or laying out……..

I have teens. They will likely do some of the following: Pickle ball, swimming, going out for ice cream or dinner, golfing, gaming online, gym, running, shopping at the mall, thrift stores...And dd and I are going to see the new Quiet Place.

My 19 yr old power washes on the weekend with his friend. They canvass neighborhoods on Saturdays to find business and then power wash on Sundays.

Voting in the snap elections at the French Embassy with my adult teen. Every expat vote counts - we need to push back against the extreme right!

And then nothing except pool relaxation. I've got a ton of nectarines - maybe my younger teen and I will make a huge batch of nectarine crumble...

Pool w/ a friend, shopping with me, at a birthday party now

Going to a birthday party midday. Helping us make dinner as a family. Whipping cream to put on the custards she made yesterday. Holding her baby brother. Probably some computer games.

My tween and teen are very close. They will play games online, golf, bike to cvs to buy candy and watch a movie. They might not play with other kids.

They have to learn how to be constructively bored now. Because if they were never bored before and get bored as teens who drive and drink... that's when it gets dicey.

Things my 13 year old does with his friends: basketball, swimming, movies, wandering around city on metro, video games, shopping

12 and 15 DS
Bike to pool and play with friends there.
They also roam from house to house, play board games or video games and just mess around with friends in the basement. The 12 yr olds have gotten back into messing with the nerf guns since schools been out. They might go play tennis.

So far they have been busy during the week between swim and tennis and friends and pool, plus the older one working and taking a class, that they like just hanging out with each other on the weekends too if friends not around.
