| I don’t know anything about him personally, just what is on the internet, but I think he’s a very good actor. That’s all I care about. |

I think Jennifer Garner probably thought she could fix him. She seems like a rescuer. He probably loved being nurtured and cared for, given his trauma. But I agree, he didn't really love her. And he still needed to fill the void.
JLo and Ben both seem to have a lot of trauma and probably trauma bonded about accomplishing success despite challenges and needing to fight for it. I do think they have love and chemistry, they are just so incompatible. |
Why do you think that? |

Bipolar=
Depression + manic behavior & risk taking/impulsivity Without it being treated, rehab won't stick. Often comorbid with alcoholism + stimulants of some sort, nicotine, coke, etc. to self medicate the ups and downs. Often present in creative people who are typically not med compliant as they are creative in manic state. |
I don't know how you could have an opinion on something like this either way. Did she ever love him? Does he love JLo? Does JLo love Ben? Does Garner love her current boyfriend? Truly an impossible question for anyone as far removed as we are to answer. Maybe even impossible for someone close to these people, but at least then it would be a much more informed guess. Based on my own experience, it is hard for me to imagine having three kids with someone and not feeling love for them. I'm sure it's possible, there are sociopaths in the world, it's just hard for me to imagine. |
I think some people get married because they think they should and/or want a family. I just got the feeling that that was why and that it was never a romance. Of course I don't know, and I don't think he's a sociopath. It's all speculation. He strikes me as someone who was on the rebound from an intense relationship (JLo) and Jen G seemed stable and a good partner. I think people marry for these reasons all the time. When they broke up, I got the sense that he was incredibly relieved and he's not that nice about her when he talks about her, whereas she said in Vanity Fair thar he was the love of her life. It's jusr a feeling I get. I don't think JLo loved her husband's either. Maybe Marc Anthony. |
I think this is a good explanation. |
When has he been "not that nice" about JenG when talking about her? I remember at one point he posted this very kind and loving Mother's Day post for her (after the divorce) just acknowledging what a great mom she is and how their kids are lucky to have her. I guess it could have just been a PR stunt but given that he is generally not that publicly effusive, it came off as genuine to me. I don't think I've seen him say anything negative about her. I'm sure there are negative feelings between them given what went down, but my sense has always been that they both really care about their kids and make an effort to be respectful towards each other because of that. I mean mostly I just think it's rare to hear Ben talking emotionally about anything. He generally seems either to be defensively joking or withdrawn in press interviews. I've seen him speak passionately about roles and projects but I'm actually struggling to remember an interview with him where he said much of anything about someone he was in a relationship with. But also possible I missed it -- I wouldn't say I follow him super closely. |

You sad F's. You know nothing about the emotional lives of these people. And they are people, not characters in your favorite soap opera.
You are saddos. |

Childhood trauma casts a long shadow.
He was a great actor before he became a movie star. Chasing Amy remains one of my favorite movies. |
| I like him. He's a guy who is trying to overcome his addictions and has been honest about his struggle. That takes a lot of humility for a celebrity. I hope he succeeds in conquering his vices. |
I remember that Mother’s Day post. It was sweet. But a few years ago, he told the press that he relapsed during his marriage, because of his marriage. |
Sure - it’s their lack of fame that gave them their careers and wealth. |
Then perhaps they shouldn't make what should be private honeymoon moments into opportunities to display near naked bottoms in bed and on a boat for the world to see. |
He told Howard Stern that then went on Kimmel or Fallons show days after trying to clean it up. Blaming others for an addiction is a classic addict move |
