Go for the food!!! A bag of cookies, brownies, or miniature candies. I don't mind sweets for my kids. I might even steal some. Gel pens, cute socks. I prefer my kids eat it and it's gone. No need to store or throw them away later. And most of it is junk, unfortunately. |
Twisty puzzle cube.

I think pretty colorful stones and gems make a beautiful gift. Parents and children appreciate it. And if child loses it, someone else will find and appreciate or it will become a loose stone in nature, no eco-harm/trash. In Frederick MD, GTC Rock shop sells polished or rough stones by the pound. Nice variety, worth the trip. There's also Earthly Elements gem shop but I've never been there.
Locally, Sacred Circle in Alexandria has a modest selection with many stones in the $1-$5 range. |
Please OP, try to select gender-neutral party favors in order to avoid reinforcing heteronormative stereotypes. |
$5 does not buy much. We don’t eat there. But it’s fine. How about a shirt? |
Oh my. |
some of us don't want to send money to chic fil a. |
With younger kids and a dog, no small things. |
But they're kids - they're not paying for their own food so why would they care about a gift card? Reading levels and interests are also too variable for books at that age. But anything else suggested on this thread would be good. Don't forget that the kids love the little bags of junk. Either give the kids what they want or skip the party favor, no need to overthink. |
$5 doesn't cover a meal at Chik Fil A.
You could wrap the cookies and give as favors with a balloon. I like idea of pens, a cute pad of paper, and some stickers. |
I just put together an event at my child's elementary school with a variety of prizes from Five Below. The squishmalows were easily the most popular of the 20 different prizes offered. |
Yeah so the 5 invited kids can all wear the same shirt to school on Monday and everyone else can know they were not invited! Luckily the $5 shirt will be dead after 1 wash. |
Nothing. These kids have everything. Maybe like adopt a sea turtle or something |
What kind of socks are popular? Knee socks, low cut socks? I assume you mean the nice, thick socks with rainbows or unicorns or whatever on them? |
Don’t have time to search now, but my kid and her friends love the thick fuzzy kind that you wear as slipper socks. Target sells them for like $3 with cats and emojis and tacos, etc. They organized their own secret Santa and these were a big hit. |
