Definitely not chickfila. Gross and then you have the kids begging to go and the parents have to spend more money to make it a meal and likely feed more than just the kid. Plus the homophobia thing.

If someone gave my seven-year-old a box of macarons I would burst out laughing. What?!?!

My DD7 would prefer macarons over bubbles and chalk. We have so many random bubble containers and a huge tub of chalk. They are always given out at festivals, school favors, etc because they are cheap. We don't need anymore.

Agree with no more bubbles and chalk. Macarons would be cool.

Edible treats or nothing. Seriously everything mentioned on here is junk and will end up in the trash can.

Maybe decorated sugar cookies nicely packaged?

I have previously included books as party favors. You could also consider a book swap where each kid bring a wrapped book to the party and leaves with a different one. Some may forget to bring one so I typically wrap a few extras.

How about buying bulk sunglasses like these: https://a.co/d/dlBqhc5?

And some cases like these:

Then you could have some stickers and acrylic paint pens for the kids to decorate their cases.

Could be a cute idea but not uv-rated so bad for little developing eyes. Pass.

Anonymous wrote:I think pretty colorful stones and gems make a beautiful gift. Parents and children appreciate it. And if child loses it, someone else will find and appreciate or it will become a loose stone in nature, no eco-harm/trash. In Frederick MD, GTC Rock shop sells polished or rough stones by the pound. Nice variety, worth the trip. There's also Earthly Elements gem shop but I've never been there.

Locally, Sacred Circle in Alexandria has a modest selection with many stones in the $1-$5 range.

With younger kids and a dog, no small things.

Agree. Anything like stones gets dumped in the outside trash before coming in because the baby may get ahold of it.

I just do a couple of the individually wrapped Cheryl's cutout cookies in a seasonal shape or a fun container of custom m and ms.

I typically see a book swap as a replacement for bringing a gift. I wouldn't expect guests to provide the party favor.

Then get these:

Many of the reviews mention giving them as party favors. And if a parent prefers different glasses the case can be used for any pair of sunglasses.

Those fall into the junk category.

Depends on what age, but my kids still use or play with these party favors that have lasted a while:

Hula hoop
Playground kickball
Stainless steel or aluminum water bottle
Thick punch-ball (these were hung up and made cool decor)
Canvas tote they decorated with fabric paint
Gel pens
Dry erase board and marker (used for a quiz game during party)
Four color pen
Plant pot they painted, remarkably the plant is still alive

I think they seem a little young for 7yos. Pass.
