How do you find it? |
Yeah, this is like writing a secret on the back of a sheet of paper and hoping users don’t flip it over. |
| I don't really see the issue. If this information exists, which apparently it does even if not released, it belongs to the taxpayers that pay for the schools and send their kids. Let students have this information if they want it. |
| Wonder if FCPS cybersecurity knows this has been going on for the last week? |
I think you’re entitled to your information, but they are trying to not give you the information of minors that aren’t your kids, even indirectly. Also, some parents are ruthless. See the threads about Sidwell Friends from a couple years ago. |
Yes..the information for your student. Why does your student have to be at a disadvantage relative to districts that will allow their student to submit their rankings? |
| OP. I would assume the "ranking" provided is just weighted GPAs in descending order. In that case, they wouldn't be able to differentiate Child A who took AP CS Principles and Human Geography and Child B who took Calc BC and AP Chem. |
Well, do you think the college admission officers have enough time to differentiate two identical or nearly identical GPAs? Sometimes it doesn’t pay off to take the most rigorous courses if you can’t do well. It is a balance act between the number of APs taken, level of difficulty and your grades. |
| DC said they could only see their own.. but there were enough seniors who looked themselves up and they were able to piece together their order, or at least calculate if they were in the top x%. |
| What page in Naviance has this? |
..that's no different than any other school that gives students a rank they can use for applications. Some kids want to get in others business at any school. |

He should submit the vulnerability to the disclosure program, if the have one. |
| Don’t your counselors tell you this info? They do in DCPS. |
