The right wing conservatives (yes, thinking of Bachman) are as scary as the Islamist Extremists

What happened to moderates? I'm a moderate or I guess independent in todays lingo. When will we start to matter more to the republican party than pandering to the extreme right wing?

I was not one of the PPs, but I'm curious to know where you got the idea that they find all extremists equally scary. One does not have to equate the likes of Rush Limabaugh and Michele Bachmann to Osama bin Laden to feel that their influence has damaged the Republican Party, and American politics in general.

Each of them got 3,000 of our population killed in the last decade. I'm not sure that statistically they are any less dangerous.

Extremists like Bachmann are scary because of the possibility they could influence others to make the US a more frightening and oppressive place. A fair number of people lost their jobs during the McCarthy era because of their politics.

Twenty extremist Saudi nationals hell bent to kill us would never convince us to submit to sharia law. But if enough mainstream people accommodated Michelle Bachmann's twisted attempts to "protect" us, who knows what we would do to ourselves.

I'm so relieved that McCain and Boehner publicly called her on the carpet. Wish that Romney had the guts to do that. (or has he done that? If so, let me know!)

He can't afford to offend anyone. He can't afford to take any more positions. He already has two for every issue.
