Country of origin and/or ethnicity please... Someone in another thread said that it's a cultural thing, so I guess that info has bearing.
We do kiss on the lips in my house; I'm Italian but born in here in the States. |
| Army brat brought up as your typical 70's American kid. Do not kiss our kids on the lips. |
|
We do kiss on the lips.
Born and raised in the US. Ukranian/German/Anglo descent. Mine and DH's families are very different on many things but both sides kiss babies and young children on the lips. |

Thought I wouldn't, but I do. (AA) |
| I never like seeing this; just seems out of place, something to be rese3rved only for the parents/couples. Caucasian. |
| I do. My parents kissed me on the lips until I was uncomfortable with it and I suspect I will do the same. I'm a white 3rd generation (both sides) American. |
| My family does. Black American. |
| No. Seems bizarre to me. I guess they can get catching herpes out the way though. |
| I do, wife doesn't. American born. |
| No. I don't have a problem with it in theory, but suspect he would not like it. American born and raised. |
| I do, American. |
| Caucasian American--Of course! |
|
No way.
Caucasian & Asian family. |
Eastern Europe - nobody I knew growing up did this. Moved to the US, had kids, and now both me and American DH do it, not sure why - it just seemed like the thing to do at the time. I don't see it going beyond a certain age, but we haven't reached that point yet

| Yes! Asian and Caucasian family. So weird that others are bothered by this. |
