I am planning a trip to Niagara Falls in Canada. I am debating to stay here for three or four nights. Most hotels only have 1 or 2 nights package. It seems to indicate not much to do beyond two nights. If I choose to stay four nights, will I get bored?

We stayed two nights. We had time to just walk along the walkway and view the falls, do the spanish Aero car, the maid of the mist boat ride, the Journey behind the falls, the White Water Walk, Niagara's Fury...and spend an afternoon relaxing in our hotels pool. We did Niagara at the end of a 10 day road trip of Canada and by then we were just beat and needed an afternoon of *NOT* touring around!
If we had stayed more I would have ventured out to Niagara on the lake, which I've heard is wonderful. |
| Two night is plenty for the falls. If you want to do Niagara on the Lake also, I'd add two nights in a bed and breakfast. |
| Two is definitely enough. We went last summer and if we hadn't taken our bikes we wouldn't have had enough to do. |
| Is the maid of the mist boat ride suitable for a three yr old? Is there another more calm one? |
| I would say two to three nights max. We stayed in the Embassy Suites on the Canadian side which was nice and had a nice view but the hotel is huge and super crowded. Each elevator ride was packed and using the stairs was a workout, something like 30 flights. I know you didn't ask for a hotel review, just wanted to put that out there. |
| I'd recommend the cave of the winds as the best of the see the falls activities (it's a serious of decks in the falls spray). |
|
Also if you are spending any time around Buffalo go to Duffs for wings.
And if you are looking for a kid friendly activity, Fantasy island is a very little kid friendly amusement park. |
| Tip for cave of the winds....bring flip flops! You take off your shoes and they left you wear this burlap "shoe". Problem is there are small pebbles and stones in the burlap shoe plus it does not have any padding at all. Bring flip flops and wear them inside the burlap shoe. |
| OP here. Thank you for all the replies. I booked the embassy suites but I am thinking to move to the higher floors of the Hilton since Hilton has a water park. Anyone has experience with both hotels? |

OMG I have so many memories of fantasy island from growing up!
OP Maid of the mist be fun or it might be too much for your 3 year old. does he/she like to get wet? Does he/she like boat rides and crowds- if yes it will be super fun. If not, not so much. Niagara on the Lake has lots of wineries you can visit and world class plays. You could also do Toronto for the extra 2 days. Have a fun trip! |
| Yes, I think I would be bored with four nights. We were there for two in the fall and that was enough. |
| We took our then 7 month old on Maid of the Mist. We had to stand back a little with a super grip on him but we got to see the falls just fine and he could not stop giggling everytime the mist hit us in the face. I think your child will like it but be prepared to hold him up because he won't get to see anything if all the adults (tall people) are crowding the edge. Have fun. |
| I was just in Niagara Falls (Canada side) earlier this month. We stayed for 3 nights and I think it was the perfect amount of time. Another night would have been too much. |
| If you have time drive to Niagara on the lake. The town is so quaint, cute shops, and there are wineries on the way there. Try some ice wine. |
