"Piñeiro’s presentation also listed potential locations for DDOT traffic calming reviews on neighborhood streets due to concerns about cut-through traffic. Those include Reno Road at 41st Street, Chevy Chase Parkway, Nevada Avenue, Utah Avenue, Broad Branch Road/Beach Drive, Linnean Avenue and Albemarle Street."

Those are the streets that will bear the brunt of the impact of the displaced traffic and increased congestion.

Not a single location in Cleveland Park? DDOT is dumber than we thought.

Cleveland Park gets hurt but those streets get totally screwed. Reno and Beach will get almost all the displaced traffic and that's how traffic will get there. Ironically their ANCs are among the biggest cheerleaders and their ANCs almost all got an election challenger because of it.

34th St goes right through the heart of Cleveland Park alongside Eaton school. Several other schools are close by. The Bob Ward/Smart Growth majority on the Cleveland Park ANC also fell into line and voted for the Connecticut cluster$&@!. However, one incumbent seems vulnerable because of his cheerleading.

It is insane how many schools are directly in the line of fire. Yet they keep saying that this is about safety, that people were told and that it's wildly popular. Turns out it isn't,they weren't and it's not . What a surprise. Just wait until the solutions get unveiled. It will only get worse.

Macomb and Garfield will also get reamed.

Just keep on making stuff up . .

Please do explain what was made up.

Are schools not on those streets?
Is safety not a claimed reason?
Are people in those areas not upset?
Is the lack of communication from their ANC not one of the main issues?
Are Macomb and Garfield not going to get increased traffic because of this?

I am a DP, but the ANCs put out newsletters, agendas, emails listserv posts, social media posts, etc. If you weren't notified, that isn't their fault.

That really depends on the individual ANC doesn't it? Your experience is different than mine which is different from someone else. You do not know what any ANC did besides your own and even then you do not know if someone a few blocks from you gets the same level of service. So please, stop trying to claim something is true that you have no way of knowing. It is a fact that the main issue of contention in one of those races is the lack of communication from the ANC in question.

Which ANC failed its notice requirements? If you're in Cleveland Park, ANC 3C put out its bike lane resolution for public comment at least a week before its meeting.

Sauleh Siddiqui, a current ANC 3C commissioner for the area, absolutely failed to do outreach in his district and then dismissed his constituents who expressed concern about the proposed massive reconfiguration of Connecticut Avenue. At an ANC meeting, he didn’t even want to provide the John Eaton principal (who had heard of the plan only 2 days before) an additional week to comment on traffic diversion to busy 34th Street. We are definitely voting to dismiss Siddiqui from the ANC for his cavalier dismissal of school safety concerns. We will vote for Nick IDE.

You mean aside from his posting on Twitter, ANC 3C posting on the CP listserv, Siddiqui posting the proposed resolution on the CP listerv over a week in advance, and the other ANC 3C notice? So, aside from all that notice, including making the resolution available publicly in advance (something that ANC 3C opposed for years), he failed to give you notice?

Got it.

The DDOT “professionals” assumes that half the vehicles diverted from Connecticut Avenue will “divert” to bicycle trips. That’s absurd. If you believe that, then CPSG has a bridge in the Donbas to sell you.

I actually subscribe to more ANC newsletter as well, I follow several on different social media platforms. they all notice their meetings with agendas etc. It doesn't take much to stay informed. It takes a lot of effort to not be informed and a lot of chutzpah to then complain about not being informed.

The Cleveland Park ANC was the group that started this all off with Hersh and Finley years ago. Blame them for tricking Macwood & co. into supporting a study of Conn Ave and getting other ANCs on board.

Actually, it started in 2000 with ANCs asking for a study that resulted in a released 2003 Study, but sure, blame the Millennials.

Nope, he sent out notice and posted on social media about it. Further, 3C put it out on its agenda, which was amplified by Mary Cheh's office.

chutzpah, indeed.

How dare Siddiqui not knock reach out personally to this person for their opinion. /s

I wouldn't be surprised if this person (they often write in the first person plural like a certain weirdo who has impersonated ANC commissioners in the past) even commented to ANC 3C before their meeting about the bike lanes. Someone should FOIA 3C to find out how many comments in support and in opposition they received.

I support Concept C, but I also agree that DDOT’s estimates are quite questionable. Their presentations and write-ups lack meaningful justification for how they arrived at their estimates. DDOT’s abysmal track record over on Wisconsin also speaks for itself. (Though I do hope they’ll rethink transit on that corridor ASAP.) I like the idea of piloting the road reconfiguration, provided it could be done quickly and recognizing it would really only tell us about the impact on cars and not bikes.

And 3/4G, 3F and 3E all put out notices as well.

Ask me how I know.

ok, how?

Because I receive email notifications from the various ANCs and follow them on social media.

none of this was a surprise anyone who was even remotely engaged.
