as they were prior seasons. Crazy thing is the mclean team parents got it right and are flourishing in GA. FVU parents will stay. MV will send kids to meaningless ID sessions and the $$ will continue coming in. |
fvu parents, are you willing to stick this out or will your girls be jumping ship to ga? |
I don’t understand the no showcases since CW and other coaches of the older age groups are going to be there anyway - they can be on the sideline. And don’t talk about the game conflicts - ECNL can easily deconflict the schedule and make it work so that other coach can be at the sidelines too. |
So you want ECNL to deconflict FVU games across age groups because one of the coaches wasn’t able to be alone on the sideline due to not being qualified? They would have been amazing if they asked for that. |
No but it’s normal than 1 coach can coach multiple teams and ask for games to not be conflicted. Doesn’t sound like a good excuse not to be at showcase considering 2010-2008 coaches are still going to be there. |
Isnt the missed showcase in question the KC one that everyone that went complained about having to go to? And no coaches on the 2011’s sidelines? Sounds like they did you a favor. |
let the fvu parents tell it. They didn’t complain and have questions about FVU’s commitment to the team. Something somethings about previous years even going to Japan or somewhere overseas. Regardless other teams in other clubs in the region enjoyed playing competition from other regions. Your older teams went so it seems very inconsistent from the outside. The only constant variable that makes sene is what they posted in here. You simply couldn’t/cant travel with DB. I dont think you did them s favor ducking competition. I think you saved yourself some money and investment. Not all the teams did well out there but the experience justified the trip. Keep making excuses however. You get away with it apparently |
I would say the NC teams are flourishing. NOVA teams including McLean are mid table. |
this is actually true… McLean is-putting up a fight. Rest of the teams not so much |
its a small community. Nothing has been officially announced and shouldn’t be heading into ID sessions. That would put that coach is a weird spot and I know he would speak up for himself vs leaving club originated ambiguity. Sounds good right now. Five teams heading into his real season sounds like a conflict. He is a well liked coach. High level coach with a critical year ahead to turn around the program after some slight improvements this year. That team loves him. With that said Aug - OCT his sat/suns should be occupied. And this is not conjecture. Google is your friend. |
| Is JW really that great or does it just seem that way because he took over a team from MV? You could go point to a random person on the street and they would be a better coach and more well liked than MV. |
ECNL and GA teams should start posting coaching assignments soon in preparation for ID sessions. I would specifically ask him and if he doesn’t say yes then assume it is a no. And if he doesn’t say yes ask how in the world he is going to coach every day at college, go on road trips to away games and still manage to coach 2 ECNL teams. If he doesn’t have a great plan be ready for a lot of missed FVU practice and games. |
If you are a 2011 FVU player, I can’t see how you don’t at least attend a few GA practices so you have options. Also I bet if FVU hears they will immediately start promising things. You can only benefit. |
Simply because the competition drops significantly in GA. If they are serious and want to remain competitive as a player, dropping to GA isn’t the right path. |
| It all depends on the player and the options available to them. Both GA and ECNL can be good pathways, as long as the player is getting meaningful minutes and working with a good coach. The team environment also matters a lot. So it’s not a black-and-white decision |
