SO FRUSTRATED-----CHANGES IN BELL SCHEDULES!!!

Hi all,
I was alarmed when I checked my daughter's soon to be school and was astonished to see they changed their school hours, without any notice to the parents! We attended registration back in May for Newington Forest Elementary and not once was it ever mentioned of this upcoming change. Had I known this would have heavily influenced where we would have moved to....Has anyone been notifed of these changes, and why weren't parents informed. | We were notified of the changes this spring and I'm pretty sure there were hearings and opportunities for community feedback prior to that. |

| Sorry to hear that. I'm a principal in FCPS, and we told parents in late April of the change in our bell schedule via newsletters. The new time is in all of our kindergarten registration info. |

To the OP,
Even if the bells had stayed the same this year, it's not a guarantee that they will be the same next year or the year after. It's also not a guarantee that the other home you might have selected would have stayed the same. Bell schedules change. It's something you just have to adapt to.... my school's bell is changing to 30 min. earlier... we will deal with it. |
