That for sure is incorrect. They always come out some time before the school year starts. It's been mid-July in the past. Drafts are probably with the schools for review right about now. |
|
In 2011, there were press releases on July 8 from OSSE, DCPS, DCPCSB (DC Public charter school Board). Also from DCPCSD on Aug 5 & Aug 2.
As I recall, nothing at the individual school level was publicly available until the Aug 5 time frame. The July 8 was all very high level scores (e.g., all 8th graders DC wide, DCPS wide, and DCPCSB wide). |
| Teachers get their final impact scores at the end of July |
| Generally, early August. So, go enjoy your summer! |
Through self-medication? |
| Do we have to wait til August? |
|
The overall scores have always been announced before now for the last few years, at least (July 11 for 2011 scores).
The individual school scores are then available through OSSE by late July/early August, so the scores are definitely late this year. |
| Does anyone know what the situation with these scores and IMPACT is - how many teachers could possibly be let go this year (if this is their second year scoring minimally effective)? I'm just curious how all this hiring is going to get done within a month of school opening. |
| The hiring is on-going because the actual firing of employees in certain cases are not effectuated until October 1. Remember there's the infamous enrollment count and if you have more or less students that becomes a whole other can of worms. |
|
16:42 is correct. 2011 scores were announced July 8th -- at a press conference.

FYI all,
Head of DCPS data and accountabity, hired last September, is leaving for New Orleans. Plus, this year there were PIAs, aka DC CAS Jr. (My 1st grader was taught how to fill in bubbles, but can't spell the word test correctly. Asked me if he should be cramming this summer because "tesses are so important for the school!" )
Not holding my breath for results. But can we get some guidance on what NCLB waiver means for individual school goals? 75% proficiency by 2017 would be great citywide. What about schoolls at or near there? Any incentives there? |
| Crazy Lady here, I would like to know what the NCLB waivers means. Considering it has made our Chancellor and Superintendent happy. |
really - have you seen Kaya express happiness, or anything about the waiver, or anything at all? |
