Is this how hot DC is all summer or will this pass?

Just moved to the area and am finding this heat horrible. Is this just a weird heat wave that will pass or is this how it is all summer? When does it cool down?

Actually I think it's been pretty mild, aside from those few days of 100-upper 90s. It's going to get worse and last much longer.

We are actually having a fairly cool summer so far.

Normally we are in the 90s, easily. Heat index sometimes reaches triple digits.

LMAO! Wow. OP, if you're for real, you are in for it. August sucks around here. Like horrible humidity and a "feels like" temp of 102. Melting face suck.

Oh, my god. It's been mild this year. The prior two years were horrible (I've been here eight years) with 90+ degree days, starting in early June. Brace yourself, OP. It's hot and humid here, most of the summer.

Oh boy OP - you are in for a world of hurt. Yesterday and today are unusually cool & beautiful. The weather last Wed/Thur & this weekend (aka super hot & humid) is pretty standard for DC in July & August. Lots of days where it's still sticky & miserable at midnight. Sept starts getting better, though generally still summer weather. And October is usually wonderful weather.

Late July are the absolute worst! Late August actually starts feeling ok to me, but I assume I am in the monitory since it starts to look like a ghost town around here in August
Op you need to join a pool, or get in the sprinkler, start looking for indoor places to hang out during the day

OP, so far this summer has been nice. There have been a few very very hot days I will admit. However, basically the entire month of August is hazy, hot and humid and 90 or above with little relief. This goes into September, but doesn't last that long into it (although some years it actually does). Honestly, you need to be ready for worse than you have already experienced weather wise for summers here. Make sure your AC works in the house and car. You will be needing both A LOT.

Glad others agree with me. I laugh in the "heat" here. But also am ok when people laugh at me when I have chattering teeth in the winters...
