| I say Towson, You say......... |
| Great school, I've hired great people from there. I think for my particular kid, I'd want a smaller setting and a higher percentage of kids living on campus vs. commuters, and so we'll probably choose Salisbury if he goes instate. Doesn't mean it's not a great fit for other students. |
| My nephew will be a senior in the fall. He loves it and has done quite well there. He's a musician getting a degree in music education. |
| We've liked it. My daughter will graduate from Towson next spring. It's a good size with some diversity. |
|
I always thought/heard it's where the 'average' students go if they want to stay in state.
|
| Average here is 4.0 though. |
Uh, no, not at schools other than the ones always mentioned on DCUM. |
| 4.0 weighted maybe |
| Towson sucks. It would look horrible on your resume in this competitive economy. |
|
that's mean pp. In some fields -- a top named school really matters such as investment banking, law, medicine and business.
In other fields -- people could care less where someone graduated. Not every kid is going to be an academic superstar. |
Funny, I just hired someone from a "no name" school because she was the best candidate to fill the position. I could really care less which college she, or anyone else, attended. |
Depends entirely what your degree is in. And what kind of niche market you are looking at. Either way, your work experience is what counts |
| Great for nursing and accounting or education. |
| I grew up near Towson and when I graduated from HS, Towson was a "safety school" for most of my classmates. I don't think it has the same reputation now since getting into college is super competitive. I would be happy to send my child there once he is old enough. |
| my nephew is a somewhat smart kid who had shitty credentials in HS. he was looking at Towson. I advised him to go to a crappy national university like WVU or NC State instead, and that is what he did. If you end up living and working in Chicago or Florida or California, nobody will have ever heard of Towson. Waste of money unless you plan to live in the Balt metro your whole life. |
