Towson

we've hired two grads and have been hugely impressed; they're smart, motivated, hard working, terrific judgement, and hungry. don't know what they put in the water up there, but based on a sampling of 2 I'm a fan.

oh..they both beat out multiple candidates from fancy schools.

Penn State ranks rather highly on all rankings of national schools. Towson doesn't. Despite the scandal at Penn State, the school will in all likelihood continue to provide a top-notch education.

How does it compare to UMBC?

Funny, I just hired someone from a "no name" school because she was the best candidate to fill the position. I could really care less which college she, or anyone else, attended.

I realize you're not so picky at the KFC, but professional jobs tend to have higher standards.

UMBC has developed a solid reputation over the past decade. One student at my DCs private couldn't afford Brown or Amherst so he chose UMBC for the research opportunities. The STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) seem to be their strong suit.

The Towson graduates I have known have all been business majors.

Were you born a judgmental ass, or did they teach you that at your name brand college?

I work with a bunch of UMBC graduates and a Towson graduate (all in a STEM field) and I've been very impressed. I work with a mixed bunch, with people from MIT, CMU, Michigan etc, and you wouldn't be able to pick the UMBC/Towson grads out. It's all about having a good hiring process and not obsessing too much about where the degree is from.

It was a joke, unclench. You placed the barrel of fish in front of me and handed me the gun.
