would you have a 4th child at age 38?

I have three kids (5, 5, 2) and can't kick the desire for one more. My husband is fine with stopping and fine with having another. He is 40. I would be 38 at delivery if I got pregnant within the next 6 months.

We aren't super wealthy by DC standards but finances don't really factor into this decision (our home is large enough for 4 kids, we already have a van, our vacations (beach house several weeks a year) wouldn't change, we live in an area with goods schools (that my older two already attend), etc. We already said goodbye to elaborate vacations, luxury goods, private school, etc when we had child #3. #4 wouldn't change much.

The one thing I worry about is age. 38 is NOT too old to have children by any means but it gives me pause when I already have 3 kids. Would you have child #4 at age 38?

I had my second (and final) child when I was 37 and it's never been a problem. I don't regret it at all! I think you would do just fine.

I had my second (and final) child a few months short of 39, and we're thrilled. Would I have more energy if I were 29 or 34? Probably. But I feel great and we're having a blast!

If you feel you want a fourth child, I wouldn't let age hold you back. Good luck!

Go for it! The more the merrier!

If you want it, it means you are ready. You certainly know what having a baby and multiple children entails. So I would say go for it.

Sure. Thirty-seven doesn't seem "too old" at all.

I'm almost 42 and stopped at two last year. I started quite a bit later, though, having my first at age 37.

My mom had me, her 4th, at age 40. I'd like to think I'm the best one outta the bunch. =) Go for it!

Will have baby number four shortly, and I will be 38 this fall.

No, I personally would not, but go for it OP!

Honey, I am trying for #2 at age 38, so what's holding you back?

If you want a 4th, I think being 38 shouldn't factor in at all. 38 for a final child really isn't old at all.

Good luck!

Go for it! You are certainly not too old.

I had #2 at 37. At 39 we went through a time where we thought we would try for #3. At 41 it's still a consideration. So, 38 would be doable for me.

Yes, absolutely.
