| I just bought one of those fruit and vegetable cleaner sprays, hmmm- kinda leary here on those too. How do you wash your fruit/vegetables- what do you use- a scrubber? |
| Vinegar and water-let soak 10 min and rinse really well. Why, I don't really know.... |
| I'm a slob, I never wash produce. Still alive and kicking! |
Ridiculous. How do you wash raspberries in vinegar and water and let them soak for. 10 minutes ? |
| Vinegar and water for everything but berries. |
| The harsher foods with tough skins (potatoes, apples, etc.) we wash with a scrubber designated for solely that purpose. The others are hand-washed. |
| Just run some water on it...I don't have time to give the veggies spa treatments. |
| Then I hope you enjoy your daily dose of pesticides and dirt. |
+1. Not only am I alive, but I never get sick / upset stomach and neither do my kids. |

To be honest, these days we really try to buy organic. You can't wash off pesticides that have been absorbed into the fruit or veg.
So with organic, we just rinse and that's it. |
| I leave them in water for about 10 min, then rinse. |
| Big items (apples, pears) I rub under the water faucet. Small, fragile items (berries, grapes) I soak in water for a minute, then rinse 1-2 times. |
This. I do work harder to remove visible dirt from things like celery and potatoes. Otherwise, just a good rinse under water. |
Comical...fear the dirt! |
Indeed. Don't worry about the dirt. Worry about the pesticide chemicals you can't see. Dirt won't hurtcha! |
