| We buy organic, so sometimes there is more grit, bit it is just a rinse. No worries! |
| Water is fine , they are washed before delivery , pesticides and fertilizer are water soluable |
| On one of the wp food chats, one of the wp reporters said that she makes a spray with some parts vinegar and some parts water. Obviously, I didn't pay close enough attention as I just use water myself. |
| What bugs me most is the wax on cucumbers. |
|
Yeah, I always peel cucumbers because I hate that wax.
I wash greens really well, because they're always so filled with grit. Everything else gets a quick pass under the tap. With all the preservatives in my system, I should live to be 120. |
| Honestly, I rinse for about 2 seconds. |
| Water will not take off the wax on the surface that traps the chemicals that you will ingest if you don't clean it off. I am amazed that a group of women who fret over every little thing that their child comes in contact with has no problem with their children ingesting chemicals and dirt because they are too busy or lazy to properly wash their produce. Do a little research it isn't just "dirt" that is on the produce. |
|
So how do you wash your produce? |
| Her staff handles that. |
Soak in a solution of bleach and hydrochloric acid until the outer layer becomes soft (~17 hours), then remove that layer by vigorous scrubbing with a titanium wire brush. |
|
17:35, have you never heard about superbugs? 17 hours won't even come close to killing those suckers.
You need a 48% solution of TSP (industrial strength solvent) and a pinch of weaponized uranium. Soak in a cool, dark place for 72 hours and rinse in 6 gallons of Evian. |

| Tell that to the people who have gotten e coli from unwashed/underwashed produce..... |
