What 2011 teams are qualifying this year??

Players & parents are definitely much happier with this turn of events.
I asked this earlier, but I think I get lost in the chatter. How realistic is it for someone to coach a college team and club? I recognize it is somewhat of the off-season for him this spring but if he were to continue to be the coach in the fall, is that really feasible?

He has been at FVU since the beginning of the year/season. He is the 2008G coach.
BL is also a college coach who was at FVU last year and now at BSC. It's not unusual or unrealistic for college coaches to coach at club level too. They don't usually take on more than a team or 2.

And just know we promise he will be the coach in the fall. He can easily manage the college team and 2 ECNL teams. Plus if there is a conflict he will choose FVU.
why would he choose FVU over George Washington? And isn’t the fact that he has to choose one over the other a concern?
he wouldn’t… bandaids are for temporary cuts.

He doesn't have to choose. Works out well for FVU players as he's a great coach and very well liked across the teams.

Had this new coaches been announced anywhere?

Just here and at the field. Ain’t nobody got time for anything else!

OK, so who's that new FVU coach from GW? Initials will suffice.

JW. He's not new though. He's been with FVU since last year.

But does the badge really hold that same value it did 3 years ago? Makes sense for older girls, but 2011 and below have options now.

Exactly. The ECNL badge isn’t the only badge that gets you invites to ID sessions and allows you to play at showcases in front of college coaches

You can tell me ECNL is better all day long but if you are staying just for the badge you deserve what you are getting

You "chasing the badge" people need to learn what you are talking about. The girls want to play on the best team possible and against the best competition possible. Below are the rankings for teams in the leagues that the local teams play - ECNL and GA (i.e., the teams they could play on and the competition they would face in those leagues. I have also highlighted the S. MD and N. VA teams the local girls could conceivably play for.

National Rankings:
10 - Arlington ECNL
13 - Charlotte SA ECNL
20 - Penn Fusion SA ECNL
29 - NC Courage ECNL
31 - FC Delco ECNL
32 - Bethesda ECNL
33 - VDA ECNL
34 - Richmond United ECNL
51 - Hex FC ECNL
72 - Coppermine GA
73 - Match Fit Academy ECNL
79 - Maryland United ECNL
81 - Charlotte Independence GA
82 - PDA Blue (North) ECNL
86 - FVU ECNL
89 - Philadelphia Ukranian Nationals ECNL
91- Keystone FC GA
107 - SJEB FC GA
117 - PDA White (Shore) ECNL
132- LVU Rush GA
141 - NCFC ECNL
151 - Beach ECNL
153- Wake FC GA
168 - Triangle United GA
188 - Baltimore Celtic GA
202 - SYC GA
208 - NC Fusion ECNL

Crickets from the “ECNL hats” people, “chasing the badge” people, “GA coming for ECNL” people. Not surprising.

Nobody cares about rankings. Is your DD developing or not? Are they helping her get ready for recruiting? Nobody will remember these rankings otherwise.

You can say the rankings don’t matter but do you think scouts are going to heavily watch soccer games of teams in the 400ish playing each other?

I’m not sure every girl want to wants to play on the best team possible. If that were true then the 18 best would be on a team. Some want to play with friends they have played with for years. Some don’t want a huge commute. Some want a certain coach. Everyone is balancing many things. At the end of the day people make their choice.
A lot of the previous discussions was around FVU and families choosing them. Pro is they are good. Con is the club and coach aren’t. Just a lot of complaining about the cons when families choose that path. Just like picking a better team that is far away then complaining about the drive.

Sound like FVU will be heading to the better direction next year?

Younger age group seems to be doing ok.

The self convincing to stay at FVU has begun. I love it.

It will be better next year. It will be better next year. It will be better next year.

Just depends on the age group. The 2011's have been rough for a while and this year's parents are just extra vocal. Younger families seem happy enough and the teams are getting stronger.

It takes time for any team to build especially teams that went through so much changes.
