I know how she dealt with me. I know how she dealt with my child (and others involved in the incident). I cannot speak to what is in her heart but the most charitable spin I can put on her actions were that they were rash and ill-informed. I saw no evidence of thoughtful deliberation, intelligent review of facts, or effective communication.

I have no confidence that she would make decisions based on the greatest common good. I have no confidence that she will collaborate effectively with others. I have seen evidence of her efforts and energy being spent first and foremost in pursuit of her personal ambition.

I very much hope she does not get elected.

Do you know how many people her opponent, Lynne Harris, has been cold, unpleasant and unkind toward? Give me a break.

No the exact opposite Harris had to deal with Mandel and Diaz and moms4liberty nuts

Harris is terrible. Nasty, cold and hostile except when someone meets her needs. Daiz is concerning.

Diaz is more than concerning she is RW garbage.

Her stance on curriculum is horrific.

She thinks she's very bright but in reality, its all show and she doesn't truely understand what's needed and is a singular focus.

I'm mostly voting against Diaz's opponent. Diaz herself is a bad candidate, but her opponent is worse.

Worse than Diaz, the "Moms For Liberty" candidate? Do tell. Actually, please don't tell. Nobody needs to hear that kind of nonsense.

Do you like early release days? Virtual snow days? Scattered "professional development " days? Increasing teacher salaries and growing class sizes? Because that's what you'll get with Zimmerman.

Actually I do like virtual snow days. They make sense. It also is nice to have a few early releases and professional days to schedule appointments on. BOE grew class sizes this year. You think Diaz is going to stop that?

Diaz might not be the candidate for everyone, but she certainly is the candidate for working parents.

How is she a candidate for working parents? MCPS always had professional days. As a parent, you need to have a child care plan. School is not child care.

Public school is a fundamental component of child care, and it always has been. We don't want BoE members that are willfully ignorant of that.

School is for education. You need to figure it out like you do summers.

If public schools were to stop functioning as child care, support for public schools funding would plummet.

Yes, I do support professional development for teachers and better pay for teachers, and hey, I voted for Zimmerman!

I take care of my own kids. No day, no nanny nor do I expect the school to do my job as a parent. You need to take care of your kids and stop expecting schools to.

How is she a candidate for working parents? MCPS always had professional days. As a parent, you need to have a child care plan. School is not child care.

Public school is a fundamental component of child care, and it always has been. We don't want BoE members that are willfully ignorant of that.

So you homeschool? Then why are you posting on the MCPS forum?

Diaz might not be the candidate for everyone, but she certainly is the candidate for working parents.

lol, Diaz is a book banning, anti-vaxxer, Moms for Liberry nut job.

So, a harmless nut job as opposed to a union plant.

She might (or might not) currently be a harmless nut job. If she were elected to the BoE, she would definitely be a harmful nut job. So let's keep her off the BoE. Vote for Zimmerman!

No, she won't. None of her crazy ideas will get past the other board members. But Zimmerman's might.

"Let's elect a nut job with crazy ideas to a position of power, don't worry, she'll be ineffective!" Very persuasive.

Here's a simpler argument: Don't vote for Brenda Diaz, the "Moms For Liberty" nut job.

DP. I strongly prefer Zimmerman and have already cast my vote for her.
