One Million jobs at risk from Defense cuts in 2013, over 100,000 jobs lost in VA

Sure, but the good news is that the pentagon isn't planning for the cuts .

I'm also guessing that since its impossible to fire the laziest employees, hard-working contractors will be first to go. The housing market will dip and people will move out in droves.

That or Obama makes some sort of 'executive' order to continue spending. After all, its been over 3 years since we last had a budget passed.

It's Obama's fault.

Yes, because defense cuts won't affect other things in your life such as your home value.

Well, I am not lucky enough to own a home yet but I will be on the lookout for yours when the selling price hits rock bottom. I would be happy to snatch it up at that point. Have a great day.

waah spending cuts are great as long as they don't affect Republican priorities. Sorry Boehner, we don't need two companies to build one jet engine for an overpriced plane we don't even need.

Gee, I want SPENDING CUTS. No one told me that JOBS would be lost because of that! I thought we were just going to stop dropping bales of money into the ocean.

Welcome to Republican priorities. Spending cuts in a recession = job loss in a recession.

Of course the "truth" is that the money will cause even more job creation in the private sector, right Republicans?

This is just the beginning.

Republicans want Military spending which brings technological innovations, libs want a welfare dependent society where the successful subsidize the lazy and stupid (the libtard option doesnt move us forward)

Not all spending is on technical advances. The department of defense wastes money like crazy. I should know, my husband works for contractors and in the last 5 years not a single project he has worked on was actually implemented by the department of defense. Meaning DOD spends crazy amounts of money, but a significant percentage of that investment is thrown away and usually from the decision of a single federal employee.

IF the pentagon was planning for the cuts then maybe it would be implemented in a smart manner to eliminate people and projects that are wasteful. However, its just not going to happen that way. In the agency I used to work with, the 2011 budget cuts resulted in job losses of young, talented people to keep the old and problematic folks. 2013 cuts really will make the government more incompetent if that's even possible.

Good idea
No more military spending = no more wars
No more fancy weapons = if people want war they will have to fight using sticks and stones
