Someone please explain to me why these non Americans should be kept on the rolls. I'd like to see the logical gymnastics on this one.

They are suing because the information is, they claim, inaccurate and results in denying real citizens the right to vote. In America that's a big no-no. We actually dumped King George over it.

Uh, this is not an ID verification process. I think you are confused. This is a computer purge. No one is checking IDs when they do it.

Fl resident here. Thus far the purge of the list has uncovered a decorated Ww ii Vet. Four minority grannies in their 80's who have vote in the last 11 elections and a few illegals Attorney fees paid by tax payers currently $300k and counting. (It's good to be a lawyer friend of our Gov.). Next he demand urine tests for voters

Let them show proof of citizenship and they can vote. They are not being denied the right to vote. Mistakes will unfortunately be made, but I would rather have a handful of citizens show proof of identity (just like at the DMV, the bank and any host of other venues) than to allow non-citizens to vote in our elections. Did you recently see the article regarding the dead dog who was sent a registration form? Requiring proof of identity for all voters would solve this problem and is a non-brainer except for those who want non-citizens to vote.

The list of voters to be purged is very flawed. 87 percent of those on it are persons of color. Coincidence, huh? The list has 2,700 names. Already, 500 of them have been identified as citizens. Only 40 have been identified as non-citizens. If that trend holds for the entire list, a couple thousand voters will be unfairly purged. I don't see how anyone can support something with such a poor rate of success.

One of FL grannies born in NYC 88 yrs ago, She living on Social Security, and claimed she'd go w/o food were it not for her church. She's lost her home and belongings in a fire, now livingin a single room. $35.00 for a replacement birth certificate is the difference between eating or not. A POLL TAX?

What if someone doesn't drive and doesn't have a drivers license? No passport? Will FLA accept a social security card from grandma? Or does it have to be a state issued photo id?

wherr did you get those facts i only see latinos being proportionally profiled and are filing the lawsuit.

As other posters have said it makes sense because of the large amount of latinos and thier proportionally large percentage of illegals.

Florida voters overall support measure, republicans and independents also support it while democrats opposed it.

But if you make a ton of mistakes and you make the challenge difficult enough, you will knock off half a ton of legitimate voters. Don't you see that?

If you think this is all made up, just check out the voter registration requirement that forces voter registration forms to be turned in within 48 hours of the time they are signed. What possible fraud issue does that solve? Clearly anyone committing fraud knows how to falsify the dates, but it hurts legitimate voter registration.

Or the new law that prohibits early voting on Sundays. Why? Because black churches take their people to vote on Sundays.

The exception is finding actual fraudulent voters.
