One of FL grannies born in NYC 88 yrs ago, She living on Social Security, and claimed she'd go w/o food were it not for her church. She's lost her home and belongings in a fire, now livingin a single room. $35.00 for a replacement birth certificate is the difference between eating or not. A POLL TAX?

Please spare everyone the pity party, she is the exception and wont starve, besides where is her family

Her family are Republicans and don't give a shit about her because she's poor and doesn't pay her fair share of taxes.

thus far PP is 100% right Fl proof of citizenship requires a BC or Passport zCost of Florida drivers lic OR PHOTO ID $48.00 POLL TAX?

Most attempts to find "voter fraud" have found few instances. A number of older people, particularly people of color or people from rural areas, don't have birth certificates on file. They were born at home and their births were not necessarily recorded. Legally, the burden of proof is not on the citizen. It's on the state.

With such low voter turnout among our own people, what on earth motivates some illegal immigrant to falsify a voter registration for the chance to cast a vote in an election and the risk of getting arrested and deported???

Why does FLA care about democratic voting people on the rolls? Won't they just change the results of any election to what they want anyway? See Bush v Gore.

Anything that makes the voting rolls more legitiment should be done. Getting the vote right is more important than who is getting on a plane or accurately reporting the income of individual Americans .

I agree. So, why would you support a purge of voter roles with such a high rate of false positives? This is preventing an accurate vote.

The best way is photo id like when getting on a plane.

the IRS has false positives all the time when trying to prosecute. Just treat illegals like tax cheats get treated which is very harsh. I would totally agree with IRS -like tactics against illegals. Just randomly select hospital and school admittance and screw any violators to the wall like the IRS does. that will make illegals fear the hospital and any other free service. they would probably rather go back to thier home country and we wouldn't have to deport any body except the random few we carhc at the school and hospital. It's the IRS method and it is very effective and efficient.

But what photo ID? What if a voter doesn't drive and doesn't have a passport? Should they be forced to get one to exercise their right to vote?

Flying is not a right. Voting IS.

So do you make them get another govt issued photo id? Who administers that? How much does it cost?

Sorry but I don't believe we have such a huge false voter problem in this country that it justifies the expense of this to taxpayers and the inconvenience to voters.

It's cleary a R plan to try to reduce miniority/Dem voters. Don't be disingenuous.

This is nothing but a completely transparent attempt to suppress Democratic votes. Anyone who supports it is not paying attention.

if an illegal votes, it takes the voting right away from a legal citizen.

To get a FL drivers lic. or photo Id a BC or Passport is req. SS card does not establish citizenship Cost 48.00. US Passport costs $125 add that. to costs of copy of official BC = good old fashioned POLL TAX
