I should clarify that I mean no disrespect to the NVA and LS GA coaches. I would imagine they are good people with solid coaching experience who genuinely care about their players. They presumably also are frustrated that their clubs treat the girls program as an afterthought. The comparison I am drawing is notable not because the NVA / LS GA coaches are sub-par, but because VRSC’s three GA coaches are exceptional. Combined they have decades of experience playing and coaching in Germany, England, and Spain, not just northern Virginia. |
We've had coaches with a pile of certifications that suck so yeah cool they sat through a lot of classes and got some paper. When it comes down to it, that doesn't mean they are a good coach. I like to see the certs and all that, but it's pretty meaningless if they aren't able to develop players. |
At least one of these coaches has long track record of training to D1 level development. What are you looking for as credentials? I’d say that’s pretty good. Already, in less than a year there are teams qualifying for nationals. |
This club shouldn't exist, it's a money grab for the rich kids that couldn't make it to loudoun or vda. |
And who are you to be the arbiter of what clubs should exist? I'll answer for you as there's only one right answer. You have zero say. If you're scared, say you're scared. |
DP. I live in western Fairfax County. I personally am glad that more options are popping up within reasonable driving distance. Fairfax County has a ton of clubs; why should Loudoun only have one conglomerate? I know there are a few smaller clubs, but none with any sort of tie in to higher level leagues. Loudoun has grown a lot in population over the last couple of decades. It only makes sense that more clubs would pop up and try to get in on things. Prince William is a long drive for us, as is anything in southern Fairfax County or in Montgomery County MD. But Loudoun is doable. I think it's better for everyone if there are some options and competition among clubs. If Loudoun is the only bigger club around, they can get away with whatever they want without losing players. That's not good for kids. |
I'm sure you can find one example of literally anything. I'm just saying credentials are great on paper, but many times do not actually translate to "good" coaching. It is more common that they aren't good than they are good. At the end of the day, it is a marketing tool and not a guarantee of anything. |
No one said the three VRSC GA coaches are good because they have good certifications. They are exceptional coaches relative to NVA’s and LS’s GA coaches because of the sum of their various experiences. Look at their resumes, where they played, where they coached, in what roles and for how long. Ask the club to connect you with some of their former players. Talk to the coaches themselves. Then do the same for NVA / LS coaches. For people who do their own research, it’s an easy decision. |
Vrsc marketing team working overtime. Gotta pay for the infrastructure somehow |
They left FCV for what they called "better financial opportunities", dragging all their players along like a scene from a low-budget heist movie. It's fine, though, let’s not pretend it was for the noble cause of the kids' development or anything. |
Coaches can’t switch clubs for a better opportunity? The players followed because they are good coaches with a proven track record. |
And you wrote this with a straight face? |
Nobody dragged anyone along. Many watched as the drama and lies of Adam unfolded. Many of us believed his charades at first, but in the course of time, one lie after another unfolded. Many were leaning on staying, but the truth set them free. It wasn’t an easy decision because rev had already made some offers to some who weren’t capable of competing in the ga. This was evident early on. While the process of moving to rev was not the best and still needs some correction, for many it was the best available decision. |
ofc, they can... not all players followed... just the ones that were the favorites. It's crystal clear that the ones who joined VRSC are playing because they are the golden children. |
you went from Adam's fairy tales to Direktor's blockbuster hits... LOL. Best of luck on your cinematic journey, my friend! |
