Isn't this exactly the same thing that happened for the Valerie Plame leak investigation? There wasn't an independent counsel appointed. Rather, Patrick Fitzgerald -- who was a US Attorney at the time -- was appointed to investigate.

Do you think Obama should be held to a higher standard then Bush?

this is worse than valrie plame. she wasn't even active and everybody knew who leaked it. this event has already gotten allies killed and imprisoned. it is current and effects our security as well as our relationship with allies. valarie plame was an attention hound who had zero relevance to national security.

The total number of people who got killed or imprisoned when Plame was outed is zero. Please provide a credible news source that shows otherwise. I won't be holding my breath...

The court did when it convicted Scooter Libby of outing a spy. So apparently many people can honestly believe her to be a spy.

That's not what Scooter Libby was convicted for. He didn't out her.
