They looked pretty miserable at the Grammys last night. This whole time I’ve thought Jen was pretty smug about being the answer to Bens lifelong issues with alcoholism, addiction, compulsive gambling, and general misery. I think what people don't understand is that the Grammy's aren't fun. Its basically a business dinner where you have to get dressed up and make small talk. Everyone at home thinks its so glamorous but I'm fairly certain that once you've been a time or two, it loses its magic. He's had his picture taken enough in his life, the food probably sucks. He's a 50 year old guy who'd probably be happier at home watching sports on his sofa. I totally get it.

I don't know if he was miserable or not but this is why these two need to shut up already about their relationship, stop selling their pics to the paps and People, and just go underground like Jennifer Garner is with her new boyfriend. Did they learn nothing?

Also, I can't stand when people who have been married previously or have children with other people go on and on about how they NOW found the love of their lives. Great if that's true, but shut up. Your kids and former spouse are reading. Not every thought and feeling needs to be shared.

They are both incredibly self-absorbed and immature. At least with Jen G, there was one grownup in the relationship.

I'm going to be cynical and suggest that he looked this way so everyone would talk about it. He's not a great actor but he's certainly not so bad that he can't hide looking this miserable.
He looks like he's hamming it up, like a kid who is pissed that his mom made him shower and put on a suit so he's going to ruin all the wedding photos on purpose.

It's a music ceremony and he's not a musician but went for his musician wife. To a place where alcohol flows freely. Maybe he told Jen he didn't want to go and she asked/begged/insisted and he went but was struggling.

Would he avoid the golden globes or Oscar’s if he had an involved movie? Doubtful. He’s been all over the red carpet with her at movie premieres lately. It’s possible he’s generally getting sick of supporting/promoting her stardom. Jennifer garner let her career take a backseat to his, and that didn’t help his issues in the long run either.

You're looking for something that isn't there. I'm not a huge fan of either of them but they seem happy. And, there are recent rumors of him falling off the wagon. So, he may be struggling. So just stop.

This isn’t about whether he’s struggling. He’s a struggling alcoholic so that’s inevitable. It’s about the hubris and smug “love conquers all” attitude Jlo has had over the past 20-24 months since they’ve been back together. Clearly it does not. Doesn’t mean they don’t have a good relationship. It does mean that love alone won’t prevent ben from relapsing, or becoming depressed, or partaking in any of the other compulsive extracurriculars he’s known for.

He looks like a former alcoholic surrounded by people drinking and pissed off. I had that look each pregnancy when I was at places where everyone was loud and drunk

But he looked like this during the engagement 20 years. A-Rod had the sane look. It’s got to be hard to be her second fiddle everywhere.
