Oh give me a break, Darren. No one is "demonizing whites." Sounds like some Proud Boys nonsense.

Some people certainly are. Sure, they’re a bit fringe. But they’re very real, with blue checkmarks on Twitter. Gaslighting isn’t going to help your cause.

But seriously though how is this not cultural appropriation? It’s really not okay. She was heavily featured in Latina publications when that publicity could have gone to actual latinas. She could have corrected this a long time ago. People telling us to lay off need to take a step back and think about how this grifter HURT real Latina’s.

🙄

My my life is so hard for white millionaire yoga instructors! 🥺. How do they survive with all the hostility thrown at them for being white??? Who can blame poor Hillary, who attended prep schools and NYU. She must have felt so disenfranchised!

"A bit fringe" is like saying Hilaria is bit Spanish. She's not. They're not and it's a reach to excuse the Spanish cosplay that she's been doing since at least 2012 because of anything happening in 2020.

Exactly. She could drop her accent and her lies at any time. Actual immigrants don't have the option of saying, "Haha! JK!! I was born in the US!" when they face discrimination or racism.

I think his point is Hillary was responding to incentives - sexual marketplace, plus boost to fame and influencer career. He’s not wrong. What was the recipe she did on Today Show? Look at her Instagram, tons of Spanish followers, write ups in Latina magazines, even CAA frames her as Spanish.

Why did a born privledged millennial like Hillary feel the need to do this? Did her media consumption make her, a very cute while gal, feel boring and inferior? That’s Darren’s point.

More like she was profiting off of a stereotype- the exotic, sexy Latina, and helping to perpetuate it although I’m sure plenty of Latina women do not appreciate it. By making herself a cartoon of what she thought a Latina woman should be, she actually did even more harm all for questionable benefit to herself.

There is a ton of speculation that she met Alec Baldwin at the same time that Salma Hayek rejected him. She played into this trip. Who knows how far she thought it would get.

Her 2nd cousin posted on Twitter that she is zero percent Spanish and she only ever went there for vacations.

Thus bolstering Revolver News’ point, no? Why does this make her more marketable? Why is CAA bragging she was born in Spain? Why isn’t she just as sexy and marketable as an UMC raised white gal? What happened to her and/or what media was this young gal consuming to make her resent who she was? Why does Arianna Grande do a similar charade? Ditto Kardashian and Jenner gals.

I wish someone would detail the length and frequency of the supposed vacations. Is a few or even annual 1 week trips to Spain/Europe enough to become fluent in Spanish? Either way, she continues to claim she spent “significant time” in Spain and that seems increasingly bogus. “Significant time” is a very evasive way to say this. A more natural response would be “I spent every summer in Spain” or “I did exchange student programs in high school in Spain.”
