Oh give me a break, Darren. No one is "demonizing whites." Sounds like some Proud Boys nonsense.

I think his point is Hillary was responding to incentives - sexual marketplace, plus boost to fame and influencer career. He’s not wrong. What was the recipe she did on Today Show? Look at her Instagram, tons of Spanish followers, write ups in Latina magazines, even CAA frames her as Spanish.

More like she was profiting off of a stereotype- the exotic, sexy Latina, and helping to perpetuate it although I’m sure plenty of Latina women do not appreciate it. By making herself a cartoon of what she thought a Latina woman should be, she actually did even more harm all for questionable benefit to herself.

Thus bolstering Revolver News’ point, no? Why does this make her more marketable? Why is CAA bragging she was born in Spain? Why isn’t she just as sexy and marketable as an UMC raised white gal? What happened to her and/or what media was this young gal consuming to make her resent who she was? Why does Arianna Grande do a similar charade? Ditto Kardashian and Jenner gals.

Oh boy.

ACTUAL Latina women don’t get to choose whether they are perceived in this way and don’t profit from it.

Do you think that Latina engineers or doctors want to be fetishized in this way? Do you think it benefits how seriously they are taken in the workplace? The entire point is that Ariana Grande profits off this perception while others don’t.

Also, no, white people arent “demonized” as the tweet says. Give me a break. 🙄

I am the same age as HB and I have vacationed on Bahamian Islands for 20 years and love the culture/embrace some of the dialect. Should I claim a Bahamian culture?

Arianna Grande is Italian and hasn't ever claimed to be anything else. The Kardashians are Armenian on their dad's side and the Jenner girls are just whatever. They're all a little too into cosmetic alterations, in my opinion, but none of them are speaking in fake accents or claiming to be a completely different ethnicity.

And considering the lies coming out of the K Klan, that's really saying something.

People in Home Depot speak to me in Spanish... can I be a sexy Argentinian now?

I’m Canadian. That’s pretty boring. I’d like to claim Brasil as my home and I’m spelling it with an S so I must be legit!

The tweet features an article. Why does a cute young white gal (she’s technically a millennial) act this way? Why did she find her lily white background boring or unattractive? Why was her scheme rewarded?

And spare me your feigned ignorance that Grande and the Kardashians don’t appropriate Black/Latina culture.

This is straight out of the white nationalist talking points. Basically, they say that white culture is demonized and/or obliterated and white people should seek a separate and distinct culture from other races. I did a quick scan of twitter under "Hilaria Baldwin" and saw a few different posts with similar themes. People can agree with the concept that you should be proud of your heritage, so they take it a step further and say that being proud of culture requires distinction and definition, which requires separation of the races. I just want to make sure this logic path is clear to everyone so they understand how white supremacy recruitment works and they don't retweet or amplify these messages.

Now you’re gaslighting like a juvenile. Goodnight.

Sad that Alec made that speech on his IG telling people to 'consider the source' for the info about Hilary, as though saying that discredits the facts. Referring to the sources as 'crap.' And 'a lot of it not true'. The sources include newspaper obituaries for his wife's relatives, his wife's old Myspace page, videos of his wife on TV shows...these are facts, not opinions...

She found her background “boring” because she believed that being interesting is something that happens to you instead of a result of doing interesting things. As a wealthy privileged white woman who had the best things in life handed to her, she correctly diagnosed that this did not make her an interesting person but her attempt to resolve this, essentially by manufacturing the hardship of an immigrant, was not the right way to resolve it. This is 100% someone with a weak character making a stupid choice.

But please, tell us how white people are under siege. I’m sure that’s a winning argument in 2020.

THANK YOU! Why is anyone even entertaining the ridiculousness that is Revolver anyway??? It's not "an article." It's just tweets laying out everything already know until you get to the end when they stick this in:

This may actually be a smart strategy. Claiming Hispanic heritage and buttressing those claims with Hispanic-sounding names may one day help her children get admitted to elite colleges which otherwise use Affirmative Action to discriminate against white Christian Americans.

It’s anyone’s guess if Hilaria’s claims, if they are fraudulent, are an attempt to game the system or if she legitimately believes them in her own mind. Regardless, it could be the latest example in a long list of white liberals fraudulently claiming non-white heritage — a list that includes former Spokane, Washington NAACP President Rachel Dolezal and US Senator and failed presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren.

Whoever was asking about Hilary’s yearbooks needs to check out the Daily Beast article from above. There is a page from her yearbook in the article.

Isn’t it obvious? These white liberals will do ANYTHING to get affirmative action, including pretending to forget the word for cucumber on national tv!

It’s a genius plan. 😂🤣😂

A lot of truth here. My spouse and I are pretty privileged--we've worked hard as 1st gen Americans and achieved an upper middle class lifestyle. Our kids will likely not face much hardship, at least not financial hardship. But her case makes me hope and pray that we don't raise someone with no gumption, no sense of self, like Hillary.
