lax culture from an insider

They all went to grade based teams as a herd in late 2013 when the leagues and tournaments went that way. I throw Cabell and Ryan under the bus because they drove this the earliest with their push for the NPYLL go to grade based and Madlax and Crabs also were two of the first to go to grade based youth events along with Hogan. I'm not picking on them for any reason except they deserve it.

The events and leafed lacrosse parents pay for have not been US Lacrosse sanctioned for a couple years now. US Lacrosse is a puppy looking for a leg to pee on.

I'm not sure why you continue to criticize just these two, when all the others around have followed suit, including Next Level and the Bethesda dads who run BLC. In fact, Madlax was the last to go to grade-level teams. Believe me, as a mother of a boy with a summer birthday who didn't get held back (redshirted, please, call it what it is!), there is nothing I would like to see more than this actually happen.

He is mentioning those 2 guys because Crabs and Madlax have more holdbacks than any other club. They are also 2 of the biggest jerks in lacrosse.

Despite this rule Ryan will find a way to throw his weight around.

I see what you did there.

Has anyone seen the ESPN documentary about the Duke lacrosse case? So upsetting.

Yes. It is awful what that DA did. So scary what unethical prosecutors/cops can get away with.

Yale alleged rape basketball story seems to be handled different and with more skepticism by the media. That too looks like a ruse where a young man's life is ruined over a lie.

Think about the kids that don't have money to hire good lawyers. They would be sitting in jail for a crime they didn't commit.

The Yale kid and he girl had consensual sex 3 times prior. She sounds like a loon.

Boy meets girl, girl dates boy, boy and girl have sex several times, boy and girl stop seeing each other, girl never contacts Yale police, girl never contacts Yale sexual problems hotline, girl seeks no counseling, girl doesn't contact New Haven police, Yale or New Haven police never have an open investigation, girl never swears off charges against boy, one year later boy finds new girlfriend, one month later boy expelled from Yale for raping girl.

All the dots connect, right? What a travesty.

Love how boosters rush to protect the accused when he's of a certain demographic. See the Sidwell rape thread. The rush to judgement is so gross, regardless of what side you're defending. Chill out. You don't know what happened. Period.

Not a booster and the certain demographic this kid came from was white working class poor. I'll keep an open mind for Yale to make a showing how this was a rape if it was never reported, and further if the woman refused to attest to the charges. I would say innocent until proven guilty. Period.

The Duke kids got an incredibly raw deal from the school, prosecutor and media, but don't pretend like they were a bunch of saints. They were engaged in boorish behavior for years, including the three accused.

I think it is a travesty how those Duke kids were prosecuted and I am glad the truth prevailed and the three were able to repair their lives. They deserved the outcome.

I went to a prep school and then an ACC school where lacrosse was very popular a generation ago and I always had a very negative disposition toward lacrosse players, especially the ones at UVA. I was on one of the women's teams in another sport and one of the first things our coaches and older teammates would communicate to first year women was never date one of the lacrosse players.

When the Duke scandal happened and even after it resolved I had two very young sons who hadn't started sports yet. The Duke event hardened my negative opinion of the sport and the boys who played it in the prep schools and colleges. The Duke kids were innocent of rape but certainly confirmed the party hard don't care attitude that fits the negative narrative. By the time the UVA murder happened both of my sons were already enthusiastic boys playing lacrosse since it it so popular with kids in this area. Again I just felt that if I have sons who take this sport seriously it would be a bad thing. Now my sons still play but have dropped out of the lacrosse crazy herd and they don't go to a prep school where lacrosse is the big thing. I was so happy when one of them found another sport and another found other interests and only wants to play in the spring for his high school. I can't think of a worse nightmare as a mom than looking anyone in the eye who asks and say my son is a Duke or a UVA lacrosse player.

Good job mom. Way to stereotype and project your belief on a whole group of young men based on the actions of a few individuals. If you're that naive to think it is the sport of lacrosse that caused these issues, I suggest you do your research. Maybe start with the new sport your sons have picked up? I'm sure there are no instances of any misbehavior. None.

Next, please espouse to your kids that all Muslims are terrorists. They most certainly must be cause people told me so!
