This is so infuriating to read as an ES teacher who is working very hard in hybrid. We put on masks and get to work HELPING KIDS. |
Nope. I enjoy your posts immensely! You are the reason this thread still lives! So thanks. |
Not op. Believe me, the rest of us rejoice with your vitriol and unfounded jealousy. Keep it coming. |
I never thought you were OP. But your posts are easy to identify. |
And teachers like you are why other teachers are hesitant to be in the building. You increase exposure and spread and have this martyr attitude of “if you CARE about kids you won’t worry about your HEALTH.” I love teaching but look, it’s a job. It’s not worth risking your health to show you’ll be The One who will do whatever it takes at any cost. |
Or, PP simply has a better understanding of risk than you do. |
Says the person working from home and not going into a school in a high case zip code. Spare me. |
I care about my health. I also think that with appropriate PPE and distancing, I can do my job, too. Get a KN-95, put a paper mask over it, and put a face shield on. Put hand sanitizer in your back pocket, soap next to the sink, and get on with it. Or at the very least stop with the obnoxious "lolz to the parents" comments that make you look like an uneducated fool. I can't take seriously any comments from a teacher who openly mocks parents' concerns about their kids' educations. |
LOLZ |
Have a great first day Loudoun 3-5th!! |
Praying for LCPS to keep DL |
All grades will go back at some point this school year. It’s just a question of if the PPR ever gets above 10% for more than 5 days, and if it does, how long does it take to drop back down. I don’t know if secondary will start in January, but I definitely think everyone will be back hybrid for the 4th quarter. |
Which is reasonable. Trying to game it and having the constant hassle of quarantines and possible flip flopping between DL and hybrid is just stupid given it would be more stable by Q4, lower risk, and possibly with some having gotten the vaccine. Why the rush now when numbers are so dicey is just beyond me. Meanwhile get another student told me today they are getting tested because they’ve already had covid but think they have it again. There’s no need to be pushing in person in this circumstance when we can easily wait and have it be so much less unstable. |
I don’t think it’s dicey to go back to school now. I’m also fine with a planned week of DL after each break. But the instability was manufactured by the school board “metrics.” We could just do hybrid K-12 as long as VA is in Phase 3, per the Governor. No flip flopping required. |
Sure why have metrics at all. Free for all sounds good. You realize covid spread is out of control everywhere and every single state is in its version of phase 3. It doesn’t mean it safe for all activity . It means they got no support from the federal government and had to prioritize the economy even while schools needed to be closed. It’s like none of you truly understand the scope of these choices and why they were made. |
